Hello my name is Cleo and this is my story. I’ll keep it short since you probably have been reading testimonials for a while!

I believe in this man he has changed my life and the lives of many others. His approach may not be for everyone but it works for me. When I made the decision to do have a bariatric surgery the reaction of family and friends varied. But the bottom line is I knew what I wanted and needed to do. I attended several seminars and stopped when I heard Dr. Cywes speak! He cares about the whole you! Not just the obese or fat you! Their program is not about doing the surgery and the recommended follow-up days. Then thanks see ya later, it’s about a lifelong commitment to change. It’s how to change, support the change (before during and after) and foremost manage the change.

If you’re interested today I weigh 209 pounds, I started out 2 years ago at 343. So I’ve lost 134 pounds. I’ve never been happier.

My name is Sharon and I am a 36 year old. Before I started this journey I had allowed myself to get up to 376 pounds wearing a size 32/34, my BMI was 60.4. (Super Morbidly Obese). I was miserable, out of shape and fearing for my health/Life. Talk about topping the scale, most scales only weigh up to 330 lbs. When you step on and it reads error (it’s not a good feeling).
I was banded Sept 17th 2007. I have currently lost 256 pounds (now 120). I’m now size 8-10 (BMI 19.34).
I have overcome Diabetes. I was stone cold scared to hear those words (Diabetes) from my Dr… I started the most important part of my journey to a healthier me. As most of you, I also have tried every fad diet out there, with very little long-term results. I did allot of research on surgical weight-loss options I did not get this big overnight and will not loss it overnight either.

I’m the most important person in my life, I need to take care of me. I spent my life taking care of others and ignoring me. No longer will I come second. If I’m not healthy how can I truly help someone else? I dance(country line-dancing) allot, sometimes as much as 4 nights a week.
When I started dancing, I danced a few songs and was done for the night. While losing the weight my energy levels went through the roof. I’m up to 30+unlimited dances in a row now. I can out dance many of the young in-shape kids. I also work out and bowl on a league. I also Country Couple Dance.
I thought that I was living before. The only one I was lying to was me.
I was limited in all aspects. I am now truly living with no limitations
I’m 125lbs Currently I’m a full time employee and full time student.. I now run Half Marathons, Mud Runs, Gate River Run 10K, Zip Line, Sky Dive, Trapeze, Kayak, & Scuba Dive. Scuba Diving I’m Open water certified, Advanced Open Water Certified, Nitrox, and Rescue Diver Certified.
I love to Live Life….

Dr. Cywes is the most fabulous doctor in the world! He is totally committed to his patients before,during and after surgery. Being an R.N. I have had the honor of working with him in a professional capacity. So when the time came for me to have surgery there was no question whoses knife I wanted to be under. In fact my confidence in him is so strong I would let him do surgery on my child on my kitchen table!!! He is passionate and determined to do the very best for his patients. He always has time for us and always seems to know the exact things to say when we need them. Dr. Cywes saved my life, gave me a better life and daily improves it. Thank you for everything you do everyday!!!

I attended Dr. Cywes' seminar before going for my first office visit in 2/2011 and it is an understatement to say that it changed my life. His approach to weight loss is revolutionary and gave me hope that I had never had before. I lost 77 pounds before my surgery and thanks to his offices incrediable aftercare program I have continued to lose after I had my surgery in 10/2011 and to date I have lost over 100 pounds. He and his staff are supportive and have an understanding of obesity unlike any other doctor or program I have experienced (and I had tried them all). I strongly encourage any one considering any type of weight loss surgery to attend his seminar and make and appointment.

Dr Cywes is the most passionate Dr. I have ever met. He truly CARES for his patients. He spends his time educating, talking, challenging, chastising (if necessary). He is very capable of performing surgery! I would not EVER go to another Dr. for this type of surgery.

I adore Dr Cywes. He is an excellent surgeon and a NO B.S. doctor! My sister and other friends had gone to Dr. Cywes for the surgery, so I was prepared. From the beginning, I knew I would like him. In addition to being straight forward and honest, he had a past weight issue and has to practice what he preaches. It is comforting to know your Dr experiences the same life situations. He is with you every step of the way....before, during and after. I have never had a DR that gave me his personal cell phone number if I had questions or needed help. Although I have not used it, I have friends that do. Dr Cywes does not abandon his patients once the surgery is over. If you like to be babied, Dr Cywes is not for you. However, if you want excellent care and a straight shooter...this office is the place to go!

I was refered to Dr Cywes from several friends who are also patients of his. I could not imagine having another doctor.

1. He truly cares about you as person. He and his staff treats the problem of weight gain, not the symptom.

2. The after-care, before-care, and during-care were more than I could ever expect from anyone. I have never had a problem that he was unavailable to help.

After my surgery (Lap-band) I was having some pain. He opened his office at 8pm at night by himself to make sure I was alright. He cared enough about me to make sure I was alright instead of sending me off to an ER or telling me to schedule an appointment the next day. I was so impressed with him.

I also love his "no bones about it" approach. It is what it is, and I love it.

I could write for a very long time about how truly greatful I am to find Dr Cywes and ALL his staff. They have been there 100% of the way and helped me more than I can ever give them credit for.

Dr. Cywes performed my lap band surgery in November 2008 and helped me change my life. He gave me the tool to assist me and the knowledge to realize this was more than just a quick fix. Immediately after surgery, I was able to get his cell phone number and he will answer your call- not a random answering service! He's there for you when you need it, not just as a surgeon, but the follow up care is astounding. I've come to know Dr Cywes and his staff over the last few years and they are the best. I trust Dr Cywes and after i reached my goal weight, he performed my tummy tuck and he did an EXCELLENT job! Dr C goes above and beyond what a surgeon or doctor HAS to do. He does it because he wants to see us succed, and is there for the journey. My journey is not over, although I've lost over 100 lbs (took 9 months) there is maintence as there is no miracle for being fat. Dr. C, Jody and even Melissa are there for you always! Now that is service :)

Dr. Cywes is a wonderful surgeon. He is very skilled in his field and did an excellent job on my surgery. I was left with only two very small scars after undergoing the Lap Band procedure under his hand. My belly button has healed perfectly and looks exactly as it did before surgery. I felt every step of the way as though he was in control and confident in his mission. I would recommend him to anyone. I believe he is the best in Jacksonville, FL.

I love this man. Excellent surgeon and easy to talk to.
