DR. LIEM IS CERTAINLY KNOWLEDGABLE OF THE WLS. ANSWERED ALL OUR QUESTIONS IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER. HIS OFICE STAFF HAS BEEN VERY HELPFUL BY SETTING UP ALL MY PREOP TESTS. STAFF STATES I WILL HAVE A MORE ONE ON ONE WITH DR WHEN THE MONTH MY SURGERY IS IN STARTS. HE AND HIS STAFF ARE VERY BUSY. HIS STAFF WORKS DIRECT WITH MY PCP TO GET ALL TEST SET UP. MY PCP IS DR HAYES, PULMONOLOGIST IS DR PANDYA, AND CARDIOLOGIST IS DR RASCHID, ALL IN FORT PIERCE, FL.

My first impression of Dr. Liem was that he seemed very sincere in his desire to help patients who are MO. He is a gentle man, quiet spoken. His seminar was very informative. He was very franl about the risks that RNY surgery involved.

I am scheduled for surgery 01/22/2003. I will be looking whether or not he has a structured aftercare program this month prior to surgery. I do know however that he stresses the need for aftercare in both his office visit and his seminar.

Dr. Liem's office staff are very busy but are also very competent. They can be a little brisk but handle all problems you report to them.

my cousin had lapro surgery done in july/2002 by dr vaughn. his office did not accept my insurance, so she told me abou dr. liem. she would have gone to him, but she wanted the lapro done, and dr. liem only does open. i found the office staff very friendly. i met with maria and she introduced the entire process to me. my dad and i are having the surgery done on the same day, so my mom will have her hands full. so far we are very pleased with dr. liem, everything is running smoothly. i would recommend dr. liem to anyone considering this proceedure. while no one is perfect, i am satisfied with my doctor, his staff, and jfk medical center.

I meet Dr. Liem and Maria in December of last year. They were inteligent and very professional and answered all my questions. I have not seen them since. Everything has been done via phone/fax.

They are extremely busy in their office so be patient when calling.

My first impression of Dr. Liem was a good one. I was referred to him by a friend so I felt good going in. He is a rather quiet and soft spoken man but he knows how to make you feel at ease. His office staff has been very helpful to me so far. They have been willing to answer any of my questions and I feel good about them taking care of me. The only negative thing I can think of so far is that the office is very rushed and they are dealing with so much that they cant spend much time with any one patient. On the other hand, that is because he is so good at what he does. He is in great demand. Im sure they deal with you more when it is necessary. We havent gotten into the aftercare all that much but they have given me enough information for now. All of that is to come later. They seem to have a fairly structured aftercare program that will be offered to me. They didnt really go into too many risks. They are very positive and they like to dwell on that. They did mention that Dr. Liem has not had any fatalities nor leaks in all the years he has been doing this. I would rate them very good overall..at this early stage. I would like to think that my Dr. has both surgical competence and good bedside manner. I feel very good about both thus far.

Dr. Liem is very quiet and very interested in what he is doing for people with weight problems, Dr. Liem has been doing this kind of surgery since the 70's and has not lost anyone to date. He practice has been noted many times in the Palm Beach area newspapers, and performs surgery at John F. Kennedy hospital in Atlantis, Floria. He is very busy, everytime I have visited his office it has been busy, but the girls in the office are very nice and helpful. They try to help you with whatever they can. I have to repeat that this office is very very busy. Maria is the office person I was in contact mostly, and she has been very nice and helpful to me whenever I have called. Dr. Liem does only open Bypass procedures, all the risks were explained to me in detail, and his bedside manner is great. Overall, he is a very nice Doctor and very well informed and I feel very confident that I will have a successful surgery and recovery. I have to repeat again how busy the office is..... Be patient and make sure you follow up with phone calls, otherwise you may be waiting a longer time then you have to. One negative thing I have to say, I was approved in July and was not informed by the insurance company until I called in August out of frustration. Then I was told that my approval had gone thru then. I have Cigna HMO POS.

I AM SO PLEASED TO SAY THAT HE AND HIS STAFF ARE AWESOME. AFTER MY ESCAPADE WITH DR. VAUGHAN, I TELL YOU I AM GLAD TO BE BACK HOME, AT LEAST THAT'S THE WAY MARIA AND THE STAFF MAKE YOU FEEL.

I HAVE TRIED NOT TO AGGRAVATE THEM BUT I KNOW THAT I DO. BUT THEY TAKE ME IN STRIDE AND I FEEL TRULY BLESSED TO HAVE THEM ON MY SIDE. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT AND TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS.

MARIA IS GIFTED. SHE GETS THINGS MOVING AND KEEP THEM GOING.

I WILL BE HAVING MY SURGERY 12/15/00@12:00 AND THIS IS THE CALMEST I HAVE BEEN IN AGES.

I have know and worked with him over the last 20 years. Have always thought him to be a competent surgeon. I found his office staff less than interested in me as a Client. Was so surprised that my surgery is scheduled and I have yet to see him. I thought I had an appointment with him but was only seen by a member of his staff.I have no idea what is aftercare plan is--

I have not yet met with Dr. Liem personally. I have met with Maria who is a GEM. So far everyone I have dealt with in the office has been very kind. I'm sure my next visit I will learn more about aftercare and such. I will update accordingly.

I was impressed with Dr Liem's overall care and concern for his patients. I guess I'm impatient when it comes to waiting for my insurance approval. It was on Aug.19, 2002 when I first went to Dr.Liem's office. I just found out on Sept.27 that my insurance needs more information from my medical doctor and that I also need to go have an evaluation from a physcologist. Don't know why some can get approved in matter of weeks and others months. Overall, I'm very pleased with the work of Dr.Liem
