Dr. Spier has a very good sense of humor. He made me feel absolutely comfortable that he is going to be my doctor and that I can truly trust my life in his hands. I have faith that he is a very talented physician and will do his best. The staff in his office are pleasant and very helpful. As often as I called them, they were willing to help each and every time. They also were very understanding that this is going to be done in a last minute fashion due to insurance difficulties. (if that's what you want to call it) He also tells you that each appointment for followup will instruct you how to continue your care. If you don't come back you fly solo in other words. He also offers support group meetings but I am so far away from him that will be very difficult for me to do. He overall made me very aware of the ifs, ands, and buts about this surgery and made me feel very informed. Best feeling of all with any other surgeon. He is the one. Also very informative to my family and friends that were with me through all of this. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. is a down to earth guy. No bones he tells it like it is. My impression of the Doctor is the same as it was in the begining He dosn't candy coat. The staff at his office are kind and caring your not just a paycheck to them. Because the doctor is so streight forward that can be sometimes construed as cocky.I think that if you are going to have the surgery that he is the man to see he has done thousands of these surgerys and does a great job. He has a support group that meets ever last Thusrday of the month across from his office. Dr. has explained the risk of surgery as did the anestisis I give Dr. Spier a 9 he is the best. I prefer that he is compotent in surgery room. Yes bedside is nice but you got to know what your doing to even get to the bedside

Dr. Spier is very up front about the surgery and answered all of my questions and even the ones that my husband asked. The office staff have been very helpful with all the insurance paper work and great to work with. I do like the fact that he wants me to keep coming in to his office to monitor my process for up to 4 years and I like that.

2.he is a very nice person and understanding in things you have questions about.
3.Rybon is great!! She is a WLS person and is a great insperation
4.Quick office visits, seems like he is in to much of a hurry sometimes.
5.He is to the point and tells you the way it is.
6.Says he will let you know how you are doing and if you need to change something
7.full liquid for 2 weeks, crunching for 2 weeks then from there on what you can tolerate.
8.stright up-- you can die from any surgery and here are other things that could go wrong.
9.Good Doctor and Nurse team!!!!!!!
10.Surgical Competence, you have the hospital nurses, aids and student nurses to take care of you!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't actually met him yet. I only just received my consultation appt. today. It's scheduled for March 12th. I thought that was pretty fast. They said Anthem typically takes 6-8 weeks to respond but I could be having my surgery by May 1st. Oh my gosh!!!! I am toooo excited! The lady I spoke with at the office was terrific. She answered all my questions and was very friendly. I can't wait to get started!!!!

Dr. Spier is a very caring wonderful personality. He certainly will pull no punches and will always give you a straight answer. His staff was very caring and his right-hand "woman", Robyn, is wonderful. I don't know how she can handle all the phones calls she gets a day, but she is always very cheerful and helpful. I would recommend this office to anyone even remotely thinking about this surgery.

Dr. Spier provided great service to me. He has a dry sense of humor and expects his plan to be followed rigidly. Don't be surprised if he seems a bit abrupt and "to the point" with you. He wants all his patients to realize that not only will you be having this MAJOR surgery, but you need to comply with a complete lifestyle change. He has support group meetings everyother month in Sprinfield and expects you to attend, which I possibly cannot due to my being in nursing school. I would recommend Dr. Spier to anyone, but if you can't take the heat, move somewhere else.
