Great guy, wonderful surgeon. He already \"knew the territory\", having taken my gall bladder out in 2003 so it just made sense for him to do my Lap RNY too. He is kind, funny, and extremely skilled. The one thing I would say that could use some improvement is that I believe sometimes he is a bit overbooked and can tend to seem rushed. Nothing serious though, because I know if I need anything, there are plenty of fabulous staff members around to help me out. A+!

'I met with Dr. Cobean for the first time in March. He and his staff are wonderful. They all work as a team to give you the patient the best care possible. They have a structured program that if you follow I can't see how you could fail. They also express the importance of follow up care for life with them

My first impression of Dr. Cobean was at the support meeting that his office holds twice a month. He was there for almost all of the meeting and was willing to answer any questions that people had. He was very supportive and did not treat anyone different because they were overweight. When I met with him in his office he answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable. Aftercare is very important to Dr. Cobean and he makes sure that everyone understands that. I would rate him a high ten. He is an excellent surgeon with a great bedside manor. He will not approve you for the surgery unless he and his team feels that you are ready.

Dr. Cobean and the entire Bariatric Center has been great. They have all worked with me on getting my surgery done and even worked with me to push my surgery up by 2 months. I don't have anything bad to say; all my questions were answered timely and courteously; no matter how dumb or repeative they were. The after care program is very strict and very well outlined and the office is right there if you have questions or concerns. Dr. Cobeans surgical competence and bedside manner are great, I would recommend him to anyone for any type of surgery.

I started researching this surgery about 4 years before I went on the waiting list for two years. The waiting list isn't as long anymore. My insurance at the time of Surgery was Anthem BC&BS, Maine Partners. They were great! I was approved right away. Since then my changed insurance companies and they are ok but not great. They cover medical procedures but will not consider any skin removal. I'm hoping that when I'm on my husbands insurance it will be better than my current CIGNA plan.

I like everyone at the bariatric center. They all make sure you understand every thing. My first visit I had a class to attend that described the surgery and the care I would need after surgery. I had to meet with a psychologist, nutritionist, and the surgeon. They make sure you are well educated and have the support you need.

I really liked Dr Cobean . His biggest stress was do not gain even a pound from the first appointment . I didn't I even lost 6 pounds when I went to my second appointment . I find Dr Cobean very nice . I liked him from the day I met with him . I would highly recommend him to anyone . He made me feel so comfy at all times . He has a great attitude I think he always will as long as you do as you are suppose to .

I actually met Dr. Cobean while about 2 1/2 years previous to having my surgery. He was the attending at the hospital when I was brought in my resuce. My first impression of him was a very kind, very concerned doctor, who wasn't seeing me for my weight but for something else. He didn't make me feel bad about my weight. At that time, I was at my all time high of 380 pounds. My impression didn't change over time. He was just as kind and concerned about me and my health as he was the day I met him.

His office staff were wonderful. I can't say anything bad about them. After care is emphasized at the support group meetings and during your office visits. Dr. Cobean was great about explaining everything so I could understand. He told me about what could happen. 18 years ago, I had had gastroplasy so he told me that he wouldn't know what things looked like until he got in there. He told me after I came out of surgery that I had been in over 5 1/2 hours and that I had more scar tissue that he had seen. But, he finished the surgery lap. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Cobean and his office staff. They are all great.
