Very Informational. The Staff has been Great!!!! They make sure you learn as much as you can about the surgery and what you need to do after the surger. Dr. Boyce's staff so far has been wonderfull.

Dr. Boyce is an amazing man who really cares and loves his patients. His staff is simply amazing! They cheered for me as I walked out the door the weekend before my surgery.
He has the best aftercare program by far. He sets you up for success before and after your surgery. He has a very structured aftercare program for his patients. Hes rated the top surgeon for this surgery. He has never lost a patient nor has anything happened to any of his patients.

He explains everything very well. You Know everything that is going to take place. all the risk, pros and cons.

I have and will continue to recommend him!
Hes such an amzing man and has been a blessing to my life!

My first impression of Dr. Boyce and his staff was that they were wonderful and very caring. Dr. Boyce spent a great deal of time answering my questions and concerns that I had. The office staff is always friendly when I have needed to call in to check on the status of my paperwork. He has a wonderful aftercare program that was very impressive to me.

Dr. Boyce is on your side. He wants you to succeed with this surgery and understands why you have gotten to this point. He explains thoroughly the procedure and risks as well as the benefits.
His staff is top-notch. It really is like a team of family members working together. They make you feel appreciated and like you are the most important priority while in the office.
This is a thorough program that requires commitment and stresses strict aftercare. Dr. Boyce and his staff will see you through this. They are going to be there every step of the way. Sara, Johnnie, Donna, Kelly, Jama....Kudos to them all....they are terrific.
Dr. Boyce is easily a 10 out of 10 on my scale. I am completely satisfied.

THAT HE SEEMED CONFIDENT OF ABILITY TO PERFORM THIS SURGERY , AND HE WANTS TO HELP HIS PATIENTS LOSE WEIGHT . MY CONSULTATION WA REALLY SHORTER THAN I EXPECTED . DR BOYCE TOLD ME I WAS A GOOD CANIDATE FOR THE SURGERY , AND HE SAID IT WAS SO IMPORTANT THAT I lOSE WEIGHT FOR MY HEALTH , BECAUSE i AM STARTING TO HAVE COMPLICATIONS .THEY DID THE BOOD WORK THAT DAY . HE TOLD ME TO LOSE 20 LBS AND GAVE ME DIET LITERATURE THEY WANT ME TO FOLLOW TO LOSE THE WEIGHT . THEY GAVE ME NAME AND PHONE # OF A PSYCOLOGIST TO MAKE APPT WITH AND WILL BE SENDING EVERYTHING IN FOR APPROVAL WHEN THEY GET THE DICTATION BACK . NOW i AM JUST WAITING ANXIOUS , AND A LITTLE SCARED - NO I AM VERY SCARED TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH , BUT I HAVE FAITH THE WAY THAT ALL THIS IS FALLING INTO PLACE THAT GOD MEANS FOR ME TO HAVE THIS SURGERY , SO I CAN CONTINUE TO GO ON IN THIS LIFE TO TAKE CARE OF MY 6 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER . MY HUSBAND IS NOW COMING AROUND TO MY SIDE ALSO AS FAR HAS THE SURGERY .HE HAS BEEN SO AGAINST THIS , BUT I THINK HE IS O K WITH IT NOW .WILL UPDATE MORE LATER

Dr Boyce is fantastic IMO.

What was your first impression of him/her?
Very kind, caring and nice.

How did your impression change over time?
Only gotten better, I have seen how skilled he is first hand now and respect him even more.

How would you describe his/her office staff?
Top notch, always helpful. Available to us anytime.

What did you like least about him/her?
Really can't think of a thing...

What should future patients know about him/her? He is a very skilled surgeon who wants things done one way, the right way. And if your not willing to do what's right (this even includes his staff) well you are in for problems.

How much does he/she emphasize aftercare?
It is a necessity and just as important as the surgery itself.

Does he/she have a structured aftercare program? Yes

How did he/she address the risks of surgery? Played no games with me, told me the facts even the smaller/lesser complications. Now I will admit his seminar painted a slightly brighter picture when it came to risks/complications. One-on-one he held nothing back.

How would you rate him/her overall?
10+

Which is better, surgical competence, bedside
manner, or both great?
Maybe by only a tiny margin, his surgical competence but his bedside manner is very good. I really could se he cared and wanted the very best for me.

Seemed competent. Didn't have a lot of one on one time with him. I met him at my consultation, then again in the surgery holding room the day of my surgery and then he checked on me the two mornings I was in the hospital after surgery. So not much one on one but I was confident with his program so it's a give and take situation. His staff is pleasant and you have to commit to the program for after surgery!!! To me surgical competence was most important so I felt comfortable going in the day of surgery. I had more pain than I had anticipated. I wish someone would have stressed how much my G-tube would hurt... that more than anything. Still hurts almost a week out! But I know everyone is different.

Since surgery, every time I meet with Dr. Boyce, I am a little more impressed. He is warm and concerned. All in all I have been very pleased...

Dr. Boyce is very CUTE, smart and caring to his patients. Once I met him after the seminar, my impression of him remained the same. His office staff is EXCEPTIONAL. They REALLY care. THE NURSES CAN COME ACROSS AS ARMY SARGEANTS, BUT THEY REALLY CARE, ESPECIALLY JOHNNIE. They are just as caring and helpful too. Patients even have a 24 hr cell phone number to contact them by if we have any concerns or problems. It is not an answering service either, but a personal number. One of the nurses are always available to answer. That REALLY IMPRESSED ME. Donna, the office manager is an angel too. She takes care of everything. I didn't have to do anything as far as the insurance is concerned.

Dr. Boyce has a VERY STRUCTURED AFTERCARE PROGRAM. Aftercare is VERY important with them. You can't be lazy with this office. They require that you do as you should. They have an in office exercise physiologist (Kelly)and he is awesome too. Kelly gives exercises to do and even helps with finding a gym to join and works out a work out plan with you. He emails us and checks in on progress.

Although he seemed a bit young, he's very professional and appears to actually CARE about his patients. He was very thorough during my consultation and answered any questions I had... and a lot I didn't even think to ask. I feel very confident putting my life into Dr. Boyce's hands. His staff, so far, is wonderful as well. Very helpful and caring. And energetic. When they called to tell me I was approved they seemed just as excited as I was and that just absolutely made my day.

These are only my experiences, but:

He seemed so young to me but I was favorably impressed with him and his concerns for my overall health.

I'm still very impressed with him.

His staff is very friendly but there are delays in returning phone calls. I did experience problems with appealing my denial to my insurance provider. My own experience may not be the norm, but I waited 90 days from the first faxed request. When the appeal was finally re-faxed to the specific individual I had been trying to get my information faxed to, my surgery was approved in three days.

Can't say that I disliked anything about Dr. Boyce.

Future patients should know that you MUST attend a meeting before you will be scheduled an initial consultation.

He strongly emphasizes aftercare and he has a very structured aftercare program in place.

Dr. Boyce was very up front about the risks of the surgery. I would give him "two thumbs up."

Both great - surgical competence is a must as my life will be in his hands but a bedside manner is essential for someone who is nervous (and probably scared)in order to make the procedure less intimidating.
