Victor Stelmack Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

My first impression of Dr. Stelmack was not really a good one. My wife and I both thought he was a little "aloof" and boasting. The more we got to know him, though, the better we liked him. He was very good in answering any questions we had and offered several very good suggestions post op. He was very much aware of the distance my wife traveled while I was in the hospital and let me go home a little early rather than have her go home and come back because I was doing well. His staff has been very helpful as well. Whenever I have had a question, I've called and always got an answer. Overall, I have to rate Dr. Stelmack and the Barix Clinic a 10 plus for all the assistance they have given me and continue to give me! (I did receive a letter a couple weeks ago, however, that Dr. Stelmack was leaving the Barix Clinic! I was disappointed to hear that, but am confident that I will continue to receive the best care they can offer.)

Initially, my surgeon was quite funny. He talked very fast when he got excited. You could tell he was very passionate about his job. He was very informative and explained everything to me clearly. I love him. He is the best surgeon. The only thing I don't like is when I don't exercise enough and he gets after me about it.

Dr.Stelmack was full of energy and information. My impression of him did not change through out the whole process. His office staff is very polite and helpfull. No matter what the question may be. Dr.Stelmack, from the beginning, told me about the risks first and then the benefits. I would highly recommend Dr.Stelmack.

My first impression of Dr. Stelmach was energy, energy, energy.
That impression has not changed.
I liked him from the first minute he trotted into the exam room and shook my hand. I had had it with doctors who acted like they were doing you a favor just by gracing you with their presence.
I can't think of one thing I dislike about him. He is very straightforward and direct. Some would say blunt. But I think he's great.
He didn't beat around the bush, he just got right to the point. He explained in detail how the surgery was done, the risks involved, everything. He even drew me a picture of the proceedure.
He gets an A+ rating from me.

This man is great, he is funny and likes to joke with you but is very serious when it comes to your health and well being.

Dr. Stelmack was very up front. He warned us at the beginning of the consult that if I didn't run out of the office screaming then I really wanted and was ready for this surgery.

So far, I've been pleased with his staff, and their handling of paperwork and follow-up.

I just love Dr. Stelmack. He's no nonsense, but very caring and concerned. He talks very fast, so you have to pay attention, but is more than willing to answer whatever questions you have. If I had it to do over again, I'd choose him again in a heartbeat.

DOCTOR RASHID IS NO LONGER DOING BARIATRIC SURGERY. HAVE DECIDED AND GONE WITH BARIX CLINIC DR. STALMACK IN COLUMBUS, OHIO.

The Barix Clinics and Staff are awesome. They accomodate the larger patients very well, it's fully geared for larger people. It doesn't matter if you are 100 lbs overweight or 800 lbs overweight they can take care of you there.

Dr. Stalmack was great, quick little guy. The surgery went very fast, in fact my fiancee thought something was wrong as the doctor was out in the waiting room so fast. But there was nothing wrong it was just the surgery was over.


He informed me of everything that was going to happen, tried to scare me and make sure I was ready.

I had my consultation today, March 29, 2005. I really liked Dr. Stelmack. He was patient with me and answered all of my questions. His presentation was thorough and he very plainly explained all of the risks. He commended me for asking questions and said that he had never had anyone so prepared before. He shook my hand three times; a very personable fellow.

The receptionist was nice as was Nurse Wanda. The facility, Barix Clinic, appeared very clean. The only negative thing I could say was the Patient Advisor Frank who came in after the nurse and before the doctor saw me. He said he had the procedure before and showed me a picture of him to prove it. He took a picture of me, but he was rushed and he excused himself before I could finish asking him all of my questions.

Dr. Stelmack said I was a good candidate for the procedure. He ordered a sleep apnea test and ECG for me. Now I wait and bid my time until I hear if my insurer approves me.

I really liked Dr. Stelmack he was upfront with me about everything and answered and questions that I had. I am scheduled to have surgery at Barix Clinics with him on April 13th...... He instructed me on there aftercare program was very upfront about the risks of the surgery and I feel that anyone who is thinking about having this done should know everything good and bad and he will tell you.
