Dr. Roll seems very capable. He soesn't perform laparoscopic surgery, which is disappointing. His office staff is top-notch. He's started a peer support group and does a lot of aftercare. The one post-op patient I talked to had nothing but praise for him. He listed the risks of surgery and didn't mince words.

Dr. Roll (Fairfax, Virginia) initially took all the time I needed to fully explain the gastric bypass procedure, surgery risks, and his program. He also provided me with a book that further detailed the procedure, risks, and aftercare program. He explained that his program is a team effort and it would take the both of us to make it succussful. Dr. Roll requires his patients to see a Psychiatrist, attend four sessions with a Nutritionist, and attend at least one (and preferably two) gastric bypass support group meetings prior to surgery. He also expects patients to commit to his aftercare program for a period of one year. Upon completion of above, Dr. Roll analyzes the results to make sure the procedure is best for the patient. It was in my case. Dr. Roll is an excellent surgeon. He is also caring, kind, and takes all the time needed to explain any concerns or problems. Dr. Roll's office staff is supportive and friendly.
