I was very impressed at our first meeting a consultation. He did exactly as described on the Website, he started off with saying he was going to talk first wsith no interruptions, then it would be my turn for whatever questions I might have. He very much stressed the "teamwork" aspect and that I was the big part of the team the determining factor as to whether it would work or not. Very organizized presention with a notebook to take with you to review after, including all presciptions needed for pre-op appointments and suggested doctors and facilities to complete them. All aspects of the surgery were covered inluding post-op with a 1 year committment to dietician and follow up visits with him. We discussed the risks of surgery but he made me feel most at ease when I asked him if I were his daughter or wife would he recommend and feel safe about the surgery for them? He said absoultely you should have done it sooner. I was under the impression from this Website that he had never had a death, untrue. He had a death in 2000 (this part scared me) she was a women about your age (meaning me and I'm 48). She had a bloodclot and subsequant stroke while still in the hospital a day or so after the surgery. Yikes that's very scary to me since I feel older than most people I have read about here. I'll repost after surgery which I did go ahead and nervously scedule for October 5, and let you know about his bedside manner and surgical competence. He does seem very likable even though to the point. I was impressed with our visit though still very scared. He pointed out my chance for success with conventional dieting based on my history was about 2% and that if I didn't make changes I wouldn't be around, so guess this my chance to make those changes.

My 1st impression of Dr. Roll was he had great character and was very informative. He let you know exacty what would be happening during the procedure and also gave you the oppurtunity to ask all the questions you had. Barbara and Anita are wonderful!!! They are very sincere and caring and make you feel like you are all a big family. He is very straight forward so if you do not like someone who is blunt, you will definately be uncomfortable. Everything for the surgery was discussed.

Dr Roll is the best! He is professional with a good sense of humor and so much energy! After my surgery, I had a couple of little glitches, and he was right on top of them with sound, conservative, treatment. His program is excellent and thorough both with preparation before surgery (meetings with his nutritionist) and after surgery with visits, more meetings with the nutritionist, and continual monitoring and follow-up. His office staff is awesome and right on top of all insurance issues. Can you tell I'm a happy customer?

I had an appointment for 3-1-04 but Dr. Roll's office had a cancellation and I saw him on 1-19-04. I really liked Dr. Roll immediately. He explained everything to me and my husband. Gave us some information and then gave us a chance to ask questions. Barbara in his office was very nice and helped explain the process that they would take with my insurance company. I have a tentative surgery date set pending authorization from my insurance company.

Dr. Roll is very straight forward. He tells you everything to expect about the surgery. He answers almost all of your questions that you take with you before you have a chance to ask them. He Secretary Barbara is just as sweet and helpful as she can be. Dr. Roll is a very caring person. Dr. Roll explained everything that could or would happen with the surgery.

I've had my first visit with Dr Roll and everything went really well, he put me at ease right away and was very informative. Barbara and Anita were both friendly and welcoming, they never get tired of me calling with endless questions, both are very knowledgeable and helpful.
Dr Roll's pre and after care programs are extensive and I look forward to meeting with other patients and sharing questions and experiences.

I met with Dr. Roll this afternoon. He is a very kind man.Well informed and competent in his field. He explains how he will present him self first. And that at the end of his presentation I can ask him anything I like. He was very cut and dry on the procedure of the surgery. We went over the risks involved.and the recovery process. Dr. Roll told me we where treating this as a disease, and not as a person with a weight problem. He also said that today was the start of my treatment and that this treatment would be a year long journey. That he and his office staff, dietitian, nursing staff, hospital and me where now a team. They would do their part and I need to do my part, and do as they instruct to have success in this treatment.(Follow Dr.s Orders)
He is very confident in the Open RYN procedure and says it is very successful. He said this is not a diet program...it is a lifestyle change
I didn't have much to ask him as I have been researching this and him for many months. Reading those reply's of you who are working with Dr.Roll..helped with my decision to contact him for this procedure.
He is very straight forward. He has a nice helpfull office staff. He has an established team of medical workers ready and able to help you.and most important he is sincere. He knows this is a big decision, after all it is surgery and you will never be able to look at food or eat it in the same manner as before.I know I am ready for the change and Dr.Roll will be their to lead me to success along with the grace of God, He has given this man the knowlage to use this as a tool in giving me a better quality of life.
Dr. Roll does not take patients who SMOKE!
And he only does OPEN RYN.
At the end of our meeting Barbra gave me a surgery date for December 16 2003
