Barix Clinics (NW Suburban Com. Hospital) Hospital
This hospital was superior in every aspect... at least the hospital itself. Their accounting team is another story. I never received any bills for a long time, then started getting threatening leters. When I would make a payment, they posted it to the wrong account. They have more than one account number per patient, and refuse to do a simple thing like putting all the charges on one account number and bill monthly. I finally got them to send me a bill by e-mailing a complaint to their corporate. All I got was a nastygram threatening collection action. I've told them that I will be HAPPY to pay them, if only they will bill me with ONE account number and send me a bill once a month. I am surprised that SO many other kinds of businesses and hospitals are able to accomplish monthly billing, but the level of incompetence I have seen from the accounting people at Bariatric Treatment Centers corporate accounting is apalling. While the clinical care is superior, the corporate accounting contact is VERY substandard. The experience I had with accounting would almost make me not recommend the hospital. If you look only at the clinical experience though, I have to say it is the BEST I have ever had!
I do not have anything negative to say about this hospital. They treated me with the utmost respect. My husband who stayed with me the entire time even made a comment about how he was treated. When we went back for follow-up visits, my family came along. They were so kind and considerate to everyone.
I think BTC is a great place. All of their clinics, doctors and hosptials are only in the business of bariatric surgery. Since this is all they specialize in, you feel very comfortable with the staff and in the facilities. They are very accomdating, all of their equipment and furniture are made to accomdate severly obese people. And a majority of their staff have had the surgery, which makes them better equipped to help you. I felt I had a lot less risks with a surgeon that has done this surgery several times a week for years.
