I has some complications after surgery and was on the cardiac floor for 24 hours. The people were nice but I had to buzz to get my IV change 2xs plus there was no liquids readily availiable it took quite awhile to get them.

The new bariatric floor is absolutely wonderful! The nursing staff was beyond kind and helpful. The pre-op staff were also very prompt and caring.

Would not hesitate to go there again. Sometimes overwhelming when a hospital gets to be the size of a small city, but it works for them.

the icu was great with wonderful caring nurses. the bariatric floor was awful the nurses never came when called, if so it would take an hour or more. the beds were hard as a rock, and every time i had to go for a test i had to wait forever for my turn, it was very uncomfortable.

Harper Hospital is a University Hospital. I knew that if anything happened to me during surgery, that I was in the best hands possible. They are equipped for anything that could possibly happen.

Everyone was great and tentative I never
felt forgotton. Everything was very clean!
I was quite impressed with Harper University
Hospital and would recommend it to anyone!

The overall experience was good. Arrived at 4:30am. Receptionist was a little cranky - but it was 4:30! Pre op people were very comforting and accomodating. Only an anesthesologist made an inappropriate comment about my large size.
Most of the other staff members I came in contact with were pleasant. Some were better nurses than others. After being discharged we waited for a wheelchair for over an hour. We laughed because the surgery only took 55 minutes.

My only complaint is that we live an hour away and my surgeon told us that my wife would be able to stay with me in my room at Harper. When the time came the manager of the floor made such an issue, it was really ridiculous. After an hour she still would not let my wife stay. she was packed and all. they offer hotel rooms connected to the hospital. yeah i can afford that. NOT!
