Inland Valley Medical Center Hospital

I was pleasantly surprised at how well my visit was to this hospital on all aspects! Unfortunately I had not heard the best reviews of this hospital before going in, but afterward I would say it was a great experience. The staff was AMAZING all around! I cannot say enough about how wonderful they all were. My experience there helped me put all my fears in check with surgeries and hospitals.
I would recommend this hospital to anyone and everyone!

They had a great staff they were busy and sometimes getting your pain meds was hard. You'd call in to let them know you had pain and sometimes your nurse would not get the message. The nurses were friendly and some were really wanting to make sure you were comfortable. It was clean and you could control you room temp.

The younger CNAs at this hospital were awful...attached to all the machines and once my catheter was removed had a hard time getting the help I needed right away ,,,calling the station more than once. I even had one accident trying to move fast to get up. The older nurses were so sweet and kind to me , but those young ones were mean and slow. I guess they thought I was their age ... not !!! I look young but Im not in my twenties. I mean these were some slow CNAs ,,,,acting like they didnt know I called. THose one am wakeups were ridiculous.

Everyone was very nice, however, it was not organized very well. I had a pre-admit appointment 4 days before surgery and the nurse gathered all my information to start a file for me. I was told to bring the mask from my CPAP. When I was admitted after surgery a nurse tried to give me a generic version of one of my meds, which I had made clear at the pre-op that I could not take the generic of that particular drug. She was also trying to have me take it in the evening when I usually take it in the morning. I was told that someone from respiratory therapy would be bringing a CPAP so I could sleep. 4 hours later it still hadn't arrived so I asked the nurse again. It was another couple of hours before I got it, so I only ended up sleeping 2-3 hours before the morning people came and woke me up. With all the information given at the pre-admit appointment, (which took almost 3 hours), there should not have been any problems with my meds, and the CPAP should have been in the room when I was admitted, not several hours later.

The staff took excellent care of me. They were attentive and responsive. All of the bariatric patients are placed in private rooms. Everyone from the admitting nurse, pre-op staff, OR personnel and floor staff were awesome. I would recommend everyone to have their bariatric surgery there. I have no complaints, except the parking, which only effected me once.
