Inland Valley Medical Center Hospital

I hope to never return to this hospital ever. Immediately after surgery, when I was wheeled to the recovery room, the PACU nurse didn't adequatly medicate me for pain. Therefore I was in misery for about 20-30 min. Then the same nurse was calling report to the MED/SURG nurse regarding me where she then stated "Yes, she's way to small to of had this surgery. You're right, she's LAZY, lazy." First of all I'm an RN, I'm a single mother with 2 jobs and I attend school, slightly less than full time. So, don't you dare call me lazy! On a 1-10 scale, 1 being bad and 10 being great; I give this hospital the rating of 3 @ tops.

I would not ever go back to this hospital again. I was in severe back pain from being in one postion from the time I came out of surgery which had been about 15 hours. I could not adjust the bed because the railings were up. 40 minutes later in tears I called them for the 3rd time to ask them to please help me before someone finally came. A few hours later about 2 in the morning my urine bag was leaking all over the floor. My poor roommate. The next morning they gave me a sponge bath but informed me afterwards that they did not have any clean large gowns, so they put my dirty one back on me. After they removed the bag they said to let them know when I had to use the restroom and they would come and help me. They made it clear not to try on my own because some people are weak and get dizzy after surgery and they didn't want me to fall. I called and asked them for help to the restroom they said they would be right there. 20 min. later no one had come and I new I would pee my pants if I didn't go and I figured if it was going to take as long as it did the other night I was just going to have to do it by myself. I made it o.k. but no one ever came. I was so glad that I didn't wait. This was the worst experience of my life. Just one last note. My roommate was finally given the o.k. to have some food after 3 days of glycerine swabs. They said that they would try to find her something 3 hrs. later when I was leaving she still did not get anything to eat. I had offered her my Jell-O before but she had said that they would bring something soon. When I left she was eating my Jell-O. My roommate was the only good thing about my stay at this hospital.

If you have weight loss surgery, you need to make sure that the food trays that the nurses bring you are all diet foods, meaning no sugar or cranberry juice. Every food tray that I received, I had to send for other liquids because I was given regular jello, cranberry juice and regular sugar. BE CAREFUL so you don't get sick from the sugar.

i was in the ICU and of course the ywere most attentive, when i moved into a regualr room if i had been unable to get up ect, i owuldn ot of had the needed help, but that was notthe case, the nurses were nice but over worked which is typical, poor htings!!! they did bring me regualr jello and juice full of corn syurp, regular coffe, sugar for it, but i knew better!! they need to alter their post op food for wls folk, but i should not whine, they did a great job, a little jello should not make much of a difffernece!
