I liked the atmosphere. If I would have been by myself in the halls I would have gotten lost, there are several hallways to try to get where you are going.

Everyone from the start with getting a ride from the hotel next door to the hospital and checking in to checking out was the BEST... They CARE about you and make sure you are taken care of very good.

ALL my nurses were WONDERFUL! I had one Nurse assistant that seemed to have a huge attitude, and would roll her eyes according to my husband. He wanted to say something and I said no! She did get better, but I kind of think she heard my husband and I talking in the hall and him wanting to confront her. I do not know if she is always that way or if it was because I was fat.

I felt like everything I asked for was a nuisance to their busy schedules. The nurses themselves had great bedside manner, but I really had to prod them for things. . .ask for pain medication well beyond the time when I was supposed to have it, etc. The actual day of surgery, I had a pain shot at 3 in the afternoon. . .and wasn't given anything else until about 9 the next morning.

Compared to Des Moines Methodist where I had my daughter, this hospital is above and beyond! All of the Dr's and the nurses were great. Very organized and detailed w/ questions and answers.

I feel that you get better care at Sioux Valley hospital than you get at Sioux Falls Surgical Center. Sioux Valley Hospital is better able to handle any complications that may arise.

Excellent facility. Employees knew their jobs and even did above and beyond. Even when the local community had a serious large accident, they needed room in ICU which is where I was, and I was moved but didn't feel I was being pushed out prematurely.
