Sisters Hospital Hospital
The staff on the 3-North surgery floor where all Dr. Caruana's patients go were very knowledgeable about WLS patients with the exception of one aide who tried to insist I could eat a cup of ice per hour without any problem within 24 hours of surgery. I had been told 1-2 CHIPS per hour, not a cup. The hospital was busy, but the constant interruptions were to give good care, check oxygen levels, etc. Annoying but necessary. My only real complaint is that the hospital is overly warm to the point I heard staff complaining. On only one occasion I had a problem getting pain medication and I believe that was just a fluke. At all other times I thought the staff was very responsive and helpful.
Overall I Had A Very Good Experience. Most Of The Nurses Were Very Helpful And Caring. There Were A few That Were Outstanding. And There Were A Few That Were Aweful. But The Good Ones Out Weigh The Bad Anyday. The Hospital Room Was Kept Fairly Clean And I Was Usually Very Comfortable Asking For Any Help That I Needed.
All the nurses and nurses aides were wonderful.I never had to wait to get meds. They were very thoughtful and very respectful to my needs. My only complaint is that while we are suppose to stay away from sweet, that all we got in clear liquids(and I'm diabetic)RESOURSE(a nutritinal drink)with 55 plus carbs per serv,Perry's slush pops(sugar on a stick)lemon and orange ice(1st 2 ingrediens sugar and corn syrup) Get my point. But that was only for 2 1/2 days and then I went home to eat right.
well this hospital needs alot of cleaning.i mean me personally i had spiders hanging from my ceiling, thick dust on the windowsills,my room was very stuffy, and hot.when you walk down the halls, there are dust balls moving around.i say this is a very dirty hospital.also the bathroom floor needs a good scrubbing.
