I have no complaints or excellent work to report, everything at this hospital was about average to good.

My stay at the hospital was good. I felt well cared for and have no complaints with the care provided. When the billing process started, then the troubles began. I am self pay so I am trying to make the bill as low a possible and the final was a lot higher than I was origanally told. I am now trying to resolve this problem, with little success.

The hospital was wonderful. Every nurse that c ared for me was awesome. Several stated they had had the surgery also. They were very aware of the surgery, my needs and were upbeat and caring. I was very impressed and grateful.

I had a great experience at this hospital. Everything seemed well organized and the nurses were nice and efficient. The room was small but adequate for my needs. My husband stayed with me for the time I was there so that was definitley a nice bonus. Overall I was very satisfied.

If you can, go to Cottonwood. St. Marks has an awful staff. All the nurses seem to do is gab with each other. They never came in to check in on me. I had to constantly page them for everything. They only emptied my "urinal" when I told them to. An ice pack and my leg booties sat on the floor for days after I stopped using them. Very poor quality nursing staff. The whole time I was there I wondered why any of them went in to nursing. One nurse actually attempted to inject my Heprin (sp?) directly in to my IV, until I reminded her that it went in my belly. I had IV troubles the whole time, and none of the nurses would do anything about it except put more tape on it. The rooms are TINY and HOT. I brought my own fan.
One good thing: all gastric bypass patients are in the same ward, so the nurses in that ward are very familiar with the procedure and treatment.

I was in the hospital for over a week with complications. My hospital stay I would rate as Average. Some nurses were great and others were just there. Upon checkout I felt they rushed you to checkout. Liked that volunteers from the weight loss support center came to visit and share experiences.

The nurses in the ICU that took care of me were awesome. They were the ones that saved my life, and they are the main reason I am here today

Well, there were some problems, but that was in ICU where I woke up instead of in Recovery. The floor was great, and the comraderie of other WLS patients was superb! My nurses were pretty good, others weren't so fortunate. Put aside the trouble in ICU and I can say it wasn't horrible, but I almost didn't survive either....see my posting for the rest of the info.

I was in the hospital from Friday - Monday. The care I received was excellent most days. The Sunday-day staff was bad.
