Good morning menu gang! It is warming up nicely here and it is suppose to be in the 70's this weekend. Crazy weather for sure! I am super ready for AMAW!!

QOTD- I still see myself fat. I do not see what everybody else sees at all. I feel weird when I go to buy clothes because I feel like I shouldn't be in that section. I see collar bones and hip bones but then I wonder are they really there? It's crazy how our mind works and sees ourself.

Time since surgery 10 months 155.1 this morning.

B- 2oz ground beef with 1/2 tsp mayo

L- 2oz Grilled chicken breast with 1/2 tsp Olive Garden dressing

D- 2.5 oz of Ribeye

S- Nuts

I hope everyone has a great day!

Surgery date March 4, 2016

S.W 309.8

C.W. 143.2

Morning DD2. I hope you and hubby feel better soon.

QOTD. I have many of the same body issues as all you. But I do think it's a little different for men. For one, we don't have the same crazy, insane sizing system as women. And I think we shop differently too. I go into a store or online and just order the same size I always do now. I don't think about not fitting into something. This is my size now. But for sure, I still see myself as a big fat guy, clothing size aside.

Good morning Daisy and menu friends, hopefully your headache eases up. I've been really sluggish lately too, I'm thinking it's just that time of year.

QOTD : Mind and body connection. At 7 months post op my brain and my body are not in sync. I still circle the plus size clothing first, then start with the larger sizes before trying the medium and now some smalls. Everytime I put jeans on I'm convinced that there not going to fit. Yes I totally feel like an imposter.

L  Protein Drink

D Turkey Spaghetti sauce

S 3 / 4 cup of plain Greek yogurt

Morning!

you got this DaizyMom! Wishing you a smooth recovery!

grey but mild here today! Will take the dog out shortly.

sorry to hear everything blah at the daisydoo household. If you aren't coming down with anything I have a sneaky suspicion that getting that run in will help daisy get her groove back!

qotd:  I'm not dealing with this particular challenge yet. I was around this weight for a few years , so I haven't really ventured into new territory yet.

I have a bit of the opposite disconnect. The way I look now is kind of how I thought I looked a 100 pounds ago? I always thought I was smaller than I actually was. Denial? Self preservation?

For those at goal, this might not be helpful, but the behaviourist gave me a few tips to try and minimize the disconnect :

-take a ton of full body selfies with the same backdrop as reference point. And look at them regularly  to compare and help your brain adjust to the transition

-take measurements for the same reasons. Your brain might need more proof than your eyes are giving it!

-getting a long piece of butcher paper and have someone draw your outline every few months.

-lastly, she said it might take longer than you'd like to process the change, and for some people, therapy would be useful.

Menu:

B:premiere protein

L: leftover shepherds pie (daisy I'll do a post in recipes about this)

D: tbd but something with the rotisserie chicken in the fridge. Maybe curry? Ooh, maybe curry chicken salad...

have a great day everyone!

I've heard that a lot of therapists suggest the same photo taking, but to cover up the face. Seeing the body without your face on it, makes it easier to be objective about body image.
