I hope dad is OK in the long run! How freaking scary. Hope your mom is doing OK too, that has to be really hard on her as well

Don't beat yourself up over the eating.

Stay safe with Jose! Hopefully he'll just bring some rain and be on his way!

Hey pammieanne, how did your parents do with the storm? They ok?

Both homes fared well... they are still without power in Naples, but found out last night that Everglade City got power, so they are heading down there today. The Everglade City home was fine, but the storm surge (there and in Chockloskee) was the worst... they had 4'6" of water in their storage room under the house (house is on stilts) and that was filled with mud (4" thick)... the mud is apparently toxic, and one person has died, and another lost his leg due to infection from this cruddy mud! Crazy!

Overall though, they are very fortunate. Last night one of the homes on the island burned to the ground after the power was back on... luckily the people were not staying there (the house was not on stilts and was directly on the river and had 6-8' of water in it during the storm)... it's all so sad. The devastation is unbelievable!

Thanks for asking :)
