Love the pictures!

I noticed your comments about turning down invitations out to dinner apparently to stay on plan? I only turn them down when I've spent too much going out or have other plans. I do pre-plan as much as possible when I go, and always order something that is primarily protein with veggies. I will always get an appetizer if an appropriate one is available (tuna sashimi, crab cake, scallops, etc). Often I'll take half of an appetizer home for another meal. If I get a main meal, I take 1/2-2/3rds home for 1-2 more meals. I don't like the idea of feeling like I am missing out/deprived because I'm afraid that will send me to bad eating behavior.

I was always a healthy eater, but my social eating was largely what got me into trouble. We used to go out to eat A LOT - like three or four nights a week. Sometimes more. I'd order an entree (and sometimes an appetizer and/or dessert) and eat everything. Baskets of bread and tortilla chips were bad news, too. I do make decent choices now - similar to yours - but I find myself slipping more than I used to. I'll have a roll. Or a few tortilla chips. Or eat a little more than I should. I'm afraid it'll add up if I do it too often - so I try to limit my eating out. Sometimes I'll suggest we meet for coffee instead, which usually works (i.e. works when I'm only meeting up with one person - with groups, I usually bite the bullet and go to the restaurant and try to behave). Also, we always have a lot of food at home (safe food), and some of it ends up going bad when we're constantly going out to eat. So there's that, too...

I hear you on the rolls/tortilla chips! Easy to avoid early on but not so much now. We do have to make plans that work best for us. I don't think we have ever gone out as frequently as 3-4 days except on vacation, so I'd probably be thinking like you if the frequency crept up.

and btw - I don't flat-out turn people down - I suggest meeting for coffee instead - or scheduling it for the following week instead - just so I can keep the frequency down (I didn't want you to think I was a big meanie or anything!!)

Good morning everybody! Not much going on today...doing laundry etc. in preparation for going to see my friends. DCgirl really helped me with my nerves about food on the trip.

I absolutely love chocolate. In any form...and I can eat myself into a coma with it. Favorites: cadbury eggs, Hershey bars, hot chocolate, ice cream and on and on. I haven't had any chocolate since before surgery AND plan to keep it out.of my diet. Funny thing the chocolate bars that are bitter and supposed to be good for you...can't stand them.

Accountability: went off my plan for dinner and had chili. Ate about double the amount I should have. A good thing I didn't have any of my snacks. Does this mean I can now tolerate bigger servings? Makes me nervous!

B. Protein shake with coffee

L. 1/4 cup of cottage cheese

S. Protein shake (,if I'm hungry,)

D. Leftover chili...this time 3 oz

I love everybody's pictures. I really look forward to Fridays. Have a nice weekend guys. Nance

It means (to me) that it's even more important to measure/weigh forever! Chili is one of those things that I 'can' eat more of for some reason, so I am vigilant about weighing it out.
