Well, that went fast! Overnight my weight went down another 1.8 pounds. I'm sitting exactly on my 100 pound WLS goal. Color me grateful!

Today I'm going back to my usual protein, veggies, fruits regimen and keep calories around 1400 to 1500. My weight goal is 133, which is what I weighed 3.5 weeks ago when I left on my trip. I'm also going to keep hydration high and eschew alcohol for a while. I am truly wined out.

This week I have much on my plate--farm equipment to get repaired, more unpacking and going through mail, paying bills, and getting back to my routine. This morning between errands I'll walk in town. Tomorrow I'll go to yoga class, but will wait until June to go back to the pool because the cooler morning hours are better for working outdoors. BTW, it is gorgeous here in May.

And finally, I really miss my husband. Coming home to an empty house was very hard. Staying in motion helps. So does meditation. But ruminating, which is very different from feeling my feelings, sucks. So I'll listen to his voice in my ear and keep moving forward.

Today's theme: Go forward.

Weight 117, calories 1073. I thought that I'd be way up on weight after Saturday night's festivities but either I didn't ingest as many calories as I thought or my body decided to disregard them. Though I went out to eat twice yesterday, I tried to be wise in my choices and amounts, so now I have lots of leftovers! Hmmm...Do I give one of them to DH one night to balance mine out?

I feel caught up on sleep today thank goodness after only about 5 hours of sleep the prior night. Today I drive DD (newly 30) to the bus, go to yoga, then go to a social gathering with the new Alzheimer's support group.

Tonight, DS's significant other is coming for a visit. Hopefully DS can straighten his lair downstairs ahead of time, but he broke his hand punching a wall in frustration (yes, boxers break). Sigh... at least Aaron can take care of him for a day or so (LOL). DS has always liked being taken care of.

Have a mostly good Monday!

Beautiful!!!! DS#1 scheduled to be married sometime this fall, and after 32 years I will at last have a DD for my own (Yes, Jesse has to share her with me). I loved raising sons, but have always longed for a daughter. Your especially lovely picture has me grinning ear to ear in anticipation.

Great job moving forward, Ann ! I'm of a mind that the ongoing respect you have for your sleeve provides some forgiving elasticity for the occasional deviations. The article/study you referenced was interesting. As I find more and more, bits and pieces of strategies may make sense to incorporate (i.e. meal length) but weighing a plate of food as a whole makes no sense to me. The participants were also not living with teeny stomachs, which changes the priority of what makes it to the plate.

Busy week with lots of odds and ends. Dandelion prevention/elimination has to be spread on front lawn, where dogs don't go and I need to do some manual elimination out back. Right now, the yard is a series of fenced in spots where we are trying to regrow grass that had urine burn out, too much focused paw traffic ( there are two major "paths" they beat, like deer) and/or some digging. All of the rain means mowing more than once a week, which I LOVE ! I still have to chuckle at all of the young folks around us with riding mowers for their .6 acre yards, and the two seniors here enjoy the exercise from pushing ours !

Moving forward... together !

Oh, ya...did you catch that, too, about mealtime length being a factor? I bookmarked the article to go over again. I find myself lingering longer and longer over meals- don't know if it is because I'm multitasking (know they say you shouldn't, but, hey) or just what. Is it a changed attitude? Often, a very long time elapses. I've always been intrigued over the idea that anorexia and other eating disorders are all just, maybe Opposite ends of the same stick.

158.6. Slowly, slowly making my way to the sweet spot.

My house is an explosion of furniture, dust, mayhem, and chaotic madness this morning--but, the floors are bare (except the tack strips that will provide my exercise and entertainment for the nexthoweverlongittakestogetthemup).

Noodle, the dog, is bewildered as is Kurt, who has yet to make an appearance for the usual morning coffee and chit chat befor work---Where to sit in a blown up library?

Peps, thanks for the sugar/fruit sugar article. When I was monitoring my active diabetes, I found that some set in cement recommendations didn't hold true for me. For example, grapes were supposed to be fine, but they totally spiked my BS-- ditto for popcorn-on the contrary, I was supposed stay clear of carrots, however, they seemed to have no adverse effect. A lifetime ago, Dr. told me that it didn't make a lick of difference if my babies ate fruit and vegetables, or just vegetables (that is to say, they weren't considered separate food groups) and that the vitamins, fiber, and other nutrients were totally interchangeable. I always thought you had to have some of both---not so sure, for me anyways. Amazing how people are so different.

I raise my coffee cup in everyone's general direction, and wish all a blessed day.

Weight still unknown.

Yesterday went a bit better than planned. I did get a card, but no note written in it. But I do appreciate the card! And DH did cook the bacon (I had cooked all the bacon for the quiches the night before and the stand-alone bacon was NOT my idea and getting popped by hot bacon on mother's day was not something I was keen about). The meal was not diet-friendly. We had quiche Lorraine (my contribution), French toast, fresh fruit, bacon and sausage, and lots of mini pastries.

It sounds like Devon may be following Ann's fruit/veggie lead and I think I'll do the same, especially when I get back. Ann-do you have a way that you plan out your fruits and veggie consumption? Ie 2 veggies for lunch, 2 for dinner, or something? I find that when I eat the right foods, there isn't much space left for unhealthy junk. Trouble is I crave that unhealthy junk, especially at snack time, and it's a bottomless pit. I'm hoping if snacking becomes veggies and hummus, or yogurt and berries etc. that one of two things will happen: either a) I'll decide I wasn't truly hungry but just jonesing for something unhealthy, or b) I'll satiate myself on something healthy! I've been eating more fast food that usual which I hate because it feels like such casual calories and we usually eat it without intention, kwim? So I'd like to really reduce that or eliminate when I get home. And the big one: liquid calories. Wine especially needs to stop. Maybe not beer so much because I usually only have one and it's so great to have by the pool. But I need to allow for it.
