For the past couple of weeks, I have felt so down and defeated. Since my surgerycon 7/18/16, I have dropped from size 26 jeans to 18's. They are snug in the waist but getting baggier in the crotch and back. I see the difference, but felt like I wasn't

OMG I just realized my BMI is now 48.7!  When I started this journey, it was 53.  This would not be significant to anyone but you all.  My tool is working!!!

About a week ago, I tried a little bit of Salmon.  It didn't stay in me very long until I was in the bathroom returning the wonderful package that I had eaten.  This past Sunday, I baked a turkey drumstick, ate 4 small bites and again ended up in the b

Yesterday was my first meal since surgery.   Who knew cream of mushroom soup could be one of the most delicious things I have ever put in my mouth.  Life was good and I woke up this morning looking forward to breakfast of...yep cream of mushroom soup.

My surgery was yesterday and I feel fabulous! I have been up and walking and eating ice like crazy. I have only used my PCA pump a few times and they are removing the catheter in a minute. After rounds, I may be discharged. I am officially on thd loser

I want to purchase a sweetner, but don' t know what is best.  When I was on Atkins, I used Splenda only to hear that it is not good.  Then when I was on Weight Watchers, Truvia was the in thing, now I hear about Stevia.  So what is best for us?  I like

I just received my first shipment of Nascobol B12 Nasal Spray, calcium, multivitamins, and iron.  Because my family had met the deductible on 1/2/16, I don't have any out of pocket cost.  I hope when the time comes (post op), I will be able to tolerate

I had my last vsit with my surgeon yesterday. Even though my insurance has me pending, he said we will move forward and be ready when approval happens.  His surgery scheduler called this afternoon to let me know I am on the schedule for June 6. If I do

A couple of weeks ago I wrote to say I was denied by my insurance.  My surgeons office and PCP were quick to get the appeal sent back a week ago and now we wait.  Usually I am the calm in the storm of emotions...for others, but this time I am a wreck.

OK Here's my question...

Has anyone ever mixed protein powder with their protein shakes?  Post op, I will have to take in 60-70 grams of protein per day.  I can't stand those protein shakes, but if I could boost one bottle by adding powder, I w

I just got a call from my surgeon's office saying that my insurance denied me because my PCP didn't write the words that she recommends the surgery.  Nope she sure didn't.  Instead she wrote that it would benefit me and I would be a great candidate for

A couple of days ago my surgeon's office had me ask my PCP to write my letter of medical clearance. I thought it was a little premature since I still have 3 1/2 more weeks of the pre op weight loss.  Well, my PCP wrote the letter and the surgeon's offi

Quick question...

Is WLS covered under FMLA?

Time is getting closer and I want to tie up any loose ends now verses waiting until the last minute.

Now, I know that may not be something that just rolls off the tongues of most of us, but in this case, I couldn't be more happy.  I just called to be sure that my allergy testing and chiropractor appointment would be covered.  Yep 100%.  Then, I took a

Would it be too much to ask my surgeon to remove my gall bladder during my RNY surgery?  I haven't had any issues with it, but my mother had to have hers removed (non WLS related) and it seems like so many post op people have gall stone issues.  Just w

While I am pre op, I am sampling a variety of protein drinks. As a child I was allergic to milk and although I outgrew the allergy, I have a true aversion to it. OK so I trhow up if it touches my lips. Anyway I amy trying New Whey protein shots tonight
