Hi Brenda, Thank you for the invitation last month! Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you--I haven't checked this email in a while. My life has been a chaotic mess lately! I've had a lot of trouble coming up with all the money I need to have the DS surgery. Regence denied me coverage twice. Recently, I have been given the opportunity to have the RNY in Nampa with Dr. Valentine and because Mercy will take payments with a $500.00 deposit, I am wondering what to do. I have had my heart set on the DS for the past seven months--I just can't seem to reconcile myself with the pouch. It seems so unnatural to me. Dr. Oakley even called me personally to discuss what he felt would work for me--which was the RNY! I trust and respect him completely, but still I don't know what I should do. Normally, I am the kind of person who knows exactly what I want. I do not want to settle, but my weight has gone back up to 297.1 and I am miserable. Since you knew from the beginning that you wanted the DS, I was wondering if you could offer some insight/advice. Do you think it matters as much as I think it will, or am I being silly at the expense of my health?
