PCOS WLS type?

Jan 27, 2009

Okay, so I have finally put aside my fears of having WLS and saw that the cons of NOT having the surgery surely outweigh the fears.  It helps that  my sister started this journey first.  We do just about everything together and it will be much easier to maintain a healthy weight loss regiment with her.

So, let's get back to me.  I have PCOS.  It is the cause for my infertility.  My husband and I have spent caboodle's of money to have a child.  All pregnancies have failed to no avail due to my PCOS.  We have since turned to adoption and are starting that process.

I want to be healthy for my new family that I will have soon.  I am so tired of shopping and feeling a sense of accomplishment because I can get into a size 24 versus a size 26.  What ever happened to my size 10/12"s from high school.  (lol).

With all of this being said, I am unsure as to what WLS is best for me.  My sister is having the sleeve.  I think that maybe the switch or gastric bypass may be the way that I have to go.  I am waiting for the consult with the doctor and see what he suggests.  Can't wait to get this chapter  started and put an end to my prison that I call a body.
