I met with him 7/11 -- he seems very competent and informative. He does both the Rouen-Y and a Band at the same time. The only thing I noticed is that he seemed in a hurry during our meeting.

My first impression of Doctor Gorosphe is that he is a very caring and compassinate doctor/person. He was very informative and answered all questions. As did his ass't Michelle. His staff is also a very friendly, kind, caring and compassionate group of ladies. He and Michelle were very informative of what we have to do after surgery to make the surgery a success. He does have a support group that meets once a month for those interested in the surgery, pre-op and post-op patients, which he and Michelle attend and participate in. He went over the risks of the surgery and how it has improved over the last several years. Again, I would rate him as a very kind, caring and compassionate doctor who wants to help his patients lose the weight and improve their lives. Both are very important to me. From all the testimonies I have read from former patients of Dr. Gorosphe's that he is surgical compentent and has a great bedside manner.

Dr. Gorospe was on first meeting a very warm and non-judgemental physician. He seemed to really believe in what he does. His office staff are just as warm and accepting as he was. He is a no nonsense sort of person and wants to hear about how you are. He has a very strict after care and expects you to participate fully. The staff of nurses and hospital are fully aware of what his protocol is and will not allow you to escape the routine. He was very informative in all our visits about the surgery. He is doing you a service and hopefully you will return the favor and co-operate with the program.

When I first met this surgeon he impressed me with his willingness to answer all my questions honestly and in terms that I was able to understand....he didnt rush through and treat me as a number only in a long list of patients....he was very friendly and personable....I found his staff to be just as nice and friendly and they went out of their way to make the process go smoothly. I did my homework before meeting the surgeon and attended the support groups that he holds each month. He also makes himself available at all times if the need arises. I found him to be board certified with only good comments to be said regarding him....I would definitely recommend him to anyone in the Tulsa,Ok area that is in search of a surgeon.

WHEN HE FOUND I HAD INFECTION IN MY INCISION; AFTER BEING HOME, HE IMMEDIATELY HAD A HOME HEALTH CARE NURSE SCHEDULED FOR EVERY DAY; TO PACK AND DRESS MY INCISION; AS IT HAD BURST OPEN WITH THE INFECTION; HE IS KIND AND CONSIDERATE AND A VERY LOVING MAN. GOD BLESS YOU DR. G.

I was amazed that such a small-sized man could be so caring for large people. He was wonderful. He explained the procedure and the risks while drawing diagrams on a white board. His expertise was a calming influence. I think the best part of his staff is Michelle Leaming. When she spoke of her story I had tears in my eyes. It is so comforting to know that I am not some freak of nature and that other people have had similar experiences. It touched my heart and soul.

Getting the insurance filed is another story. I'm guessing that the high volume and a new staff member is what caused my letter to the insurance to not be filed for several days. I would recommend that you call your insurance to verify that they have received the information and follow-up as needed.

United Health care is the best insurance -- approved within 24 hours!!

Dr. Gorospe didn't look at all like I pictured him. He is a short, very lean man from the Phillipines. As he talked, I thought I had never met anyone who was thin who was so in tune with being overweight. He has a nurse, Michelle Leammimg, who has had the surgery two years ago, and who is his patient liason. She's great. His insurance nurse was like a pit bull when it came to appeals. The other staff was very supportive of an overweight persons' needs and fears. I don't think that there is something I dislike about Dr. Gorospe. He is fervent about aftercare. He has set up a support group each month and is insistant that you go once before pre-op and once post-op. Any other involvement is up to you. He also has you meet with his nurse at the hospital for going over the aftercare program. He is very up front with risks of the surgery and what he does to prevent them. He didn't soft sell you on it. He gave you the information and let you decide from there. I would rate the process of visits, insurance and surgery as Excellent. He has even trained the surgical floor nurses on how to take care of gastric bypass patients. I think that skill, bedside manner and support staff is all important.

He seemed very knowledgeable about this surgery. As time went on, I felt more confident in his knowledge. Very friendly staff, made you feel good. He makes the whole process seem very important, before, during and after. He was very open about the risks. Overall I would give him a 10, on a scale on 1-10! Surgical competence and bedside manner must both be great!

When I first meet Dr. Gorospie, I was so impressed. He was honest. He explained everything in terms I could understand. He sees me as a person, not a number or a job.
Staff was quick and helpful in getting information to the insurance company. Staff is friendly. I have just begun my journey. I cannot really comment on the staff or doctor fully at this time.

I thought Dr. Gorospe was a very kind hearted person. My impression of Dr. Gorospe is that he is a softie. He has addressed the risks very well explaining in detail what could happen. I would rate Dr. Gorospe with an "A", which would be a 94% out of 100. Having surgical competence and bedside manner is a MUST. He has both.
