Luis Gorospe Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

Dr Gorospe was a very knowledgeable doctor and seems to genuinely want to help people. He is also and incredibly busy man. He was very informative on the first visit and his staff was very friendly! I'd reccommend him to everyone.

I first met Dr. Gorospe at a support group meeting. I was very impressed to hear that he was at all of the support group meetings and was willing to answer any and all questions from people who have had surgery and who where thinking about it.

I got the impression that the people who where there seemed to have really bonded with him and have close relationships and felt like after surgery they could call him and he would always be available to answer your questions if they had any trouble.

His office staff was very friendly and nice. I can't think of anything I did not like about him. I was suprized that my first visit with him was with two other people considering the surgery. It was not a problem and he met with all of us indiviually afterwards for any other questions we did not want to discuss with the group. It was actually nice because they had questions that I had not even thought of. But I was not expecting it.

The support group that he has meets monthly and everyone there seems to be having wonderful results and the Doctor stresses going to a meeting before you have surgery which I think is a great idea.

My surgery will be October 19th and I think I will be able to answer the other questions better after I have my surgery. But so far I have been very impressed with the Dr. My family has looked into him in terms of legal problems and his standing on the medical board and he will tell you that he wants you to investigate him he has nothing to hide.

He gives me the impression that he is very informed with the new advances in the feild of weight loss surgerys, that he is honest and really enjoys helping people become the healthy happy people they dream of being.

Just had first consultation, group then individual. Was quite thorough and our group was great. Found out the he is a preferred provider on my insurance coverage. Hope that helps. One on one was very open and concerned about me. Answered all questions and made me feel at ease. Am looking forward to a surgery date being set soon!

Dr. Gorospe seemed very knowledgeable about the whole procedure. His staff was extremely kind. He makes everyone go to the support group meeting before surgery which is wonderful because it will really give me a dose of reality from people who have already gone through the process. I was approved after my first letter to my insurance company and I am waiting for all the official paperwork to be sent over and to get the ball rolling!

The first meeting was basically a group meeting (only 3 people showed up out of the 6 scheduled)and then he met us each personally for a few seconds - to ask if we had any additional questions. He was very willing to answer any of our questions.

Dr Gorospe is an excellent surgeon! Busy, but excellent!

My first impression was that he was very knowledgable about this surgery (thank goodness!). I haven't yet had the surgery yet so I can only answer a few of the questions. His office staff was helpful but the real work was done by me in dealing with the insurance company.

The pre appointments are a little time consuming but well worth it. If I had not had a ultra-sound on my gall bladder, I would not have known (until later) that I had a gall-stone. So, my gall-bladder will be coming out.

I work with two individuals who have had the surgery by Dr. Gorospe and one has lost 106 lbs., and the other 90 lbs. It has been quite helpful for me to have these two people at work for me to talk to. Even though they told me what to expect, Dr. Gorospe is improving and updating the surgery every day. I found out that he tries to do it laproscopically first. YEA!

Dr Gorospe is a wonderful Dr. i wouldnt ask for anyone else. He knows his stuff folks. And his staff is wonderful to work with, they help in any way they can.

Met with the Dr. last week Dec. 8, 1999. I was very impressed. His staff was very helpful and courtious. What I liked the most was he made you feel like you were his main priority and your success is his success. He did not rush on telling us about the procedure and answered all of the questions we asked. He does everything in his power to make this a good experience for his patients. And takes all the medical procations needed for you as his patient.
