dr g was wonderful, everything went just about as i had expected. alot of pain for the first few days, but got off the pain pills quickly and took aspirin for a few more days then all got better fast after that.i try to get in a mile or alittle more each day and thats plenty besides going back to work. i would definiyely do it over as i am feeling so much happier and am finally losing the excess weight. it is like a dream, but its real!!!! i can now eat just about anything, but sometimes things like red meat feels heavy and sometimes comes back up( onlt 3 times) but this was because i ate too fast or didnt chew well.... my fault.dr g emphasizes aftercare and is serious about coming to some meetings, they are immensly valuable for more info.and he does attend the meetings!he cares!!!

He is great, and the people in his office, and his support staff are wonderful! When my insurance company called to confirm, they said they would have had lots of questions about the doctor if it were anyone other than Dr Gorospe performing the surgery. The nurse at the insurance company advised that they felt Dr Gorospe is the best in this region. Was also advised by insurance nurse that he has the best support and staff around. That means a lot when it comes from an insurance company.

The first time I saw Dr. Gorospe was at a support meeting his patients have every month. I was shocked that he was there, then I found out that he attends all of them. The second time was at my 1st consultation with him. He holds a group consultation with several patients and explains the surgery and answers questions, then meets with everyone individually in case they want to discuss something with him in private. Since that visit, I have seen him twice at support group meetings. I can't say enough about this man. I have NEVER seen a doctor care more about people. He is always smiling and to see the successes he has created, you know he has to be a busy man. There is nothing I didn't like about him. He's kind, funny, EXTREMELY INTELLIGENT, has a great bedside manner, and much more. His staff is great. I have had no problems with them. They have always been helpful when I have spoken with them. His nurse called me the day after I was approved to set up preop testing. They have got their stuff together! Dr. Gorospe and your staff, you are truly a blessing.

Dr. Gorospe is great! He tries very hard to have a personal relationship w/each patient. The first consultation is held in a group setting wherein he explains the procedures of wls. Then each person in the group meets with him individually and goes over their cases. The office staff if very helpful and eager to get to know you. Michelle, his assistant has had the surgery herself, and her testimony was enough to convince me that this was the avenue I needed to take. Dr. Gorospe's aftercare program was one of the thing's that most impressed me. He has a support group that meets monthly, that he himself attends. There is also a dietician on staff and available for your needs. Your monthly Dr. visits for one year are included in his surgery fee. At the beginning of the group discussion he covers all risks and even offers the few surgeries gone wrong in his career. So far I would rate him Excellent!

I'm very impressed with Dr. Gorospe and his staff. Everyone in the office made me feel welcome to ask/share anything. I'm looking forward to the relationships that will be formed through the support group meetings to follow!

He was very knowledgable and was caring about my feelings and made me feel confident that he could help me.
No, he even goes to our support group every month. Most doctors don't interact with their patients outside the office. I think that is a good sign of compassion.
They are very knowledgable about the subject and are very helpful.
I do not have any dislikes about him at all. I feel he is an excellent physician as well as a great person.
Aftercare seems to be very important to him. He has gone as far as letting all post-op visits up to a year be free so that people are more apt to come back and check in.
He expressed the risks in detail and answered everyones questions.
I would give him a 10. He is an excellent doctor.
Both of them are great. He was very professional and compassionate.

I met Dr. Gorospe 11/25/00 at one of his group seminars. He seemed to be a nice man. He then met with us individually to ask if we had any questions we didn't want to discuss in group. I had one or two questions and he seemed concerned and interested. He requires his patients to attend one of the group meetings before surgery, I missed the one in Nov. and will have to wait until Jan.

I had my first consultation with Dr. Gorospe on February 21, 2001. Before I went I had been researching wls for about 3 months. Dr. Gorospe was informative and personable. When my husband and I went in to talk to him one on one he was really patient and took his time answering alll of our questions. He paused after he answered a question and he gave us plenty of time to ask more. At no time did we feel rushed. This was really a great feeling.

he was so knowledgeable. I was very impressed. He didn't try to glamourize the surgery. He wanted you to be very informed about what you were getting yourself into. Lisa in his office has been great to work with. and Michelle, oh my gosh, she is great. She had the surgery with dr. g and tells you all about it. She looks incredible, almost as incredible as her story. He is upfront about his expectations of you. and how you will attend support group meetings and have monthly follow up care for at least a year. He goes over all the risks. I have complete trust in his surgical competence and hope to see a great bedside manner as well.

I met with Dr. Gorospe on 2/21/00. I was very impressed with his knowledge base and expertise regarding the Roux-ny gastric bypass surgery. I feel very confident that I have made the correct decision regarding a surgeon. I have had the opportunity to speak with another surgeon in the facility that I work and he had nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Gorospe. That is very reasuuring for me, coming from someone that I know and respect. I am looking forward to my next visit with Dr. Gorospe.
