Goals After Bariatric Surgery: Can You Wear Your Wedding Ring?

February 28, 2019

One of the unfortunate side effects of obesity is when we aren't able to wear our wedding rings (or any special ring). When we are obese, our fingers become larger too. Many times, we aren't able to wear our wedding rings and are forced to put them away.

Some people will buy a new wedding ring or substitute with another ring that does fit their finger. Others will hope for the day that they can wear that special ring comfortably again.

When we have weight loss surgery and lose weight, one of the changes we experience is our body size decreases, including the size of our fingers. Of course, showing our before and after photos are reason to celebrate our success. Just as important is when we are able to wear our wedding (or other special) ring.

The goal to "Wear My Wedding Ring Again" is a popular goal in the ObesityHelp Goal System that OH members want to achieve and have accomplished!

Is this one of your goals? Have you already achieved this?
