Topic: RE: Goal Weight Question
Hi Dana, My surgeon didn't give me a goal but I had told him my goal was 112-116 my normal weight until 2001. He smiled and never said a word but he knows I was serious. I'm 5'3 and I don't really expect to reach that goal till I have plastics done. I am loosing very slow, so much slower than our peers here on the board and yes I see the tightness going from my long skinny neck. It probably isn't as noticable to others but bothers me. From Pilates my neck muscles are so pronounced that my eye is drawn right to that little spot. Dr told me when I came back in Dec he would be referring me for p.s. He told me tummy and breastlift will be covered so I guess I will be dipping into 401k for a slight tug on my neck. Something I swore my entire life I would never need being in the skincare business. Makes me nervous to think about it but so looking forward to getting back my life completely. Almost there. If my dr's goal is 141 that brings me right to normal BMI and that is 8 more pounds. I'm in 6's and 8's but I don't dare put on jeans, it might depress me and I rather be happy.

i think you should weigh where you feel most comfortable. if 130 works for you and you feel and look the way you want then i'd say stop there. my surgeon never set a goal for me i set one for myself of 175 but now i've changed it to 165. 165 puts me in the normal bmi range so that's what i was going for...the highest weight in the normal range. and size 8 pants is fantastic...i wish i could get my butt into those. i'm in the same boat as you with the skin on the tummy and the lost boobs. we'll just have to wish together that we'll get the PS!! my husband promised it to me but it'll be a good 2 years from now. he likes boobs and needs me to get a lift and possibly implants...i'm all for it. i think i'd be one of those addicted to PS people...don't tell anyone i do see a difference in my face too. my sister said it's because we don't have all that fat filling out the wrinkles anymore. i have some major lines going on my face. to me i look older but my best friend told me i look like a 16 year old now. WHATEVER!! i'm 32 i highly doubt i still look 16..i'd be happy with looking my hubby's age (25). anyway i think 130 sounds good and a size 6/8 is a great size to be! just do what's comfortable for you. Topic: Goal Weight Question
Morning friends. Wanting to know how many of you set a personal goal weight that is below your surgeon's goal? I have all along thought I wanted to be between 120-125 but as I get close to my surgeon's goal weight I'm thinking that will probably be enough. I'm finding that the more weight I lose, I'm beginning to look older instead of younger and I don't want my face to look gaunt. I'm wearing a size 8 pants (if the skin was gone I'd be in a 6) and a M-L shirt depending on manufacturer. I have no butt or hips left and the boobs are deflating more and more. I think I'll probably have excess skin weighing somewhere around 10 lbs and hope to one day be able to have PS. At 130 I'll have a normal BMI, your thoughts on goal weight please. Topic: Update on me
Well, where to begin, it has been approximately 7 1/2 months since surgery, open DS. I am down 90 pounds and 58 3/4 inches. (Most of it around the waist). I have TONS of energy! Yesterday I cleaned from the time I got up until about 2 hours before bedtime. My apartment has never looked so good! I have NO trouble walking long distances (for example, I work at 3M, you have to walk two miles usually to get to your destination). I had to finally break down and do some clothes shopping for work (I tried to put it off as long as I could, but I was running out of clothes that fit ) I am able to shop in the "misses" instead of the "pluses" finally! I am only down to an 18, but that is a far cry from the 4X / 32's I was wearing! I just now, need to work on getting my tummy flatter. I have had zero complications, I can eat anything I want. It seems that steak is the staple of my diet, but thats okay. My biggest problem is, somedays I think I can eat too much. Sometimes I can eat a 6 oz steak, potatoes and veggies without any problem. But, as long as the tape measure and the scale continue to move, I won't worry about it! I don't count carbs, calories, or fats. Anyway, good luck to my surgery brothers and sisters, I wish you as well as I am doing! Pat 300/210/140
