Lynne, Looks like you are doing great. What are protien balls? My menu
B: yogurt (sugar free, fat free)
Snack: 1/4 bagel with cream cheese
L: 1/4 cup sweet potato
1/2 cup salad with lettuce, tomato & cucumber
Snack: V8
Dinner: chicken (small amount)
green beans
Snack: popcorn
Just by looking at the menu I see that there is not enough protien - no wonder I am low in iron. See this activity was helpful to me. Sarah

Lynne,
Your menu sounds great to me...
I mean really look at what you posted, not much food at all. Dosen't it amaze you when you really stop and think of what you used to eat in one meal compared to what you eat in a full day now??
You are doing great!!!

Topic: RE: 6 months
I hit the 6 month mark yesterday. Had my check up with the doc. Waiting for blood work to come back but looks like I need to take iron. I look in the mirror and see a different person 70+ pounds gone forever. I have been retaining water the past month and now take water pills. Doctor has told me to drink more water (more than 110 ounces) a day. BP was 102/60 wow. I still wear an 18 pant and XL shirt. Want to be in 14 but will have to continue to work at it. Danielle - keep up the good work. Our body image issues do not resolve over night. I can cross my legs now and have water on both sides of me in the bath tub. Must be going somewhere. People tell me that I look different every time they see me. Must be working. have a great day - Sarah 266/192/140

Hi all,
Just checking in to put some new pics up. I've lost 85 lbs and am feeling good. I go to the gym now 4-5 days a week. I couldn't believe how much more "normal" I looked in my new pics. I'm still plugging away at the weight loss. It's slowing down now, but I'm determined to hit -100 in the next few weeks!

Topic: Food and me
I wonder sometimes about how much food I eat. When I compare it to what I could eat before, it's not much, but then I see people posting tiny amounts of food. Yesterday I had:
breakfast - 3 protein balls
lunch - about 1/2 cup beans and ham
snack - a 100 calorie pack of ritz mix (on the road)
dinner - 3 coconut shrimp and some salad (at Joe's Crab Shack)
I'm on vacation and at a friend's house. She wanted to go to Joe's last night and I almost gagged watching her eat the 40 shrimp dinner. But, yanno, a year ago I could have eaten it too.
How am I doing?

I didn't notice either until about a month ago. I've lost 90 lbs. and am now under 200. I have now noticed things like collar bones, shins, and shoulders. I also found wrinkles in my face and varicose veins too but I should expect that at age 46! Everyone kept telling me that, but I couldn't see it either as I wasn't wearing clothes that fit. Now that I finally changed over to Goodwill wardrobe, I see more of a difference, but sizes are hard. For instance I am wearing a 14-16 top and a 18 pants.
Last month I only lost 1 inch, but this month I lost 6, total of 97 inches. I had lost 1 1/2 in my waist this month, so I know it's going to go sometime. I have about 50 more to go. Best wishes and hang in there as you will see it soon!

I don't notice the weight loss myself. People tell me everyday they can tell but when i look at myself i dont see it. I notice my clothing is huge on me and I am wearing jean I have not in years and years and they are huge. But when I look at myself I dont see a diffrents. Is anyone else having this problem?

Are you getting in your water and protein requirements? I too can eat anything I want. I might get a little tired and blah feeling but I don't get sick. In fact I keep M&M's in my desk drawer at work. But I've had the same bag for 2 or 3 months and it is still 1/4 full. I have found if I double scoop my protien shake for breakfast and before bed it makes it easier to get in my protien. If you like the protien shakes or bars use them as snacks, or beef jerky, cheese sunflower or pumpkin seeds sugar free pudding ( I love that) You can still get the sweet fix without it sabotaging the weight loss. Sometimes when you feel hungry try drinking a glass of water as fast as you can without getting sick and it will fill up your pouch. I know if I don't get in enough protien I'm hungry all the time still. I've lost 83 pounds so far and surgery was Feb 23. Only about 30 pounds to my goal of 150. Remember this is a tool but you have to use it wisely. Good Luck and keep us posted.
