Topic: RE: Hypoglycemia Question
Dana:
I just read your post here and on the main message board. I have been having problems with hypoglycemic attacks for the last couple of months. I have finally figured out that the trigger was cereal. I eat breakfast and then about 3 hours later, I crash. I have started eating eggs or a protein shake for breakfast and that seems to help. I had an episode at work the other morning for the first time and that was a little scary because I felt it coming on and knew what would happen if I didn't get it under control. Luckily, I work in a grocery store, so I went and got some orange juice and cheese crackers (out of peanut butter ones) and that took care of it pretty quickly. Now, I carry peanut butter crackers with me when I leave the house, just in case. I go to see my surgeon in 2 weeks for my one-year checkup, so I'm going to mention it to him, but eating protein instead of carbs seems to keep it at bay.

Topic: One Year Anniversary
Well it's has been one year for me and I'm down only 90 lbs. I try to see the bright side of all of this. I'm down from a size 24 to 14. It's not the end of the world I haven't reach my goal. Even though I am very hurt and anger about it all. I've had alot of health problems to stop me from losing it. But I am losing it. Plus my surgeon hasn't been around in keeping an eye on me with blood work and check ups. But I try to find a bright side. So I may not be like all of you that has reach or surpassed their goal and I've had alot of problems. But it doesn't mean I never get there. I do beleive I will get there one day.
Today is my 1 year anniversary and I'm very greatful for it for the long way I came.
