well i got the results on my one year labs. everything was in normal range except a couple things. FIRST the idiots at the lab didn't do the B1 testing...apparently they were supposed to draw a separate tube of blood to freeze to do that test? i dunno...so i have to go do that again. SECOND...the doctor said my liver enzymes are high and i have to call back today to schedule "further testing" on my liver and gallbladder. i hope that doesn't mean gallbladder removal. i've had 3 surgeries in this past year now i don't want another!! plus that's gonna set us back on our baby plans too! anyway just thought i'd let y'all know. did anyone else have that problem with the liver enzymes? As I mentioned on the mentor thread [thanks to you *****sponded!] I am scheduled February 15th. Any suggestions/helpful hints as to what to pack for the hospital? Will I be able to read a book or should I not bother bringing it to the hospital? Do I bring shampoo/body wash/face wash -- will I be able to shower? Do I bring my protien suppliments/chewable vitamins [really terrifed of hair loss]? What shopping items I need to stock up on? ANY other advice? I'm feeling nervous that I'm not practically prepared [I've been mentally prepared for a while!] Also, I have a 3 year old, what do I tell her about the time I will be gone? Thanks in advance! xosm

hiya grouch i'm nobody's angel and not from new york, but i'm about a year out now and check the boards fairly regularly. if you'd like to keep in touch on a one on one basis, i had my lap rny on feb 8th, 2005 and am down 175 lbs so far. got about 95 more to go until my goal. hope i hear from you. if not, good luck with your surgery and your journey. dorthe
