Thanks Steph, good luck to you on the blood work also. That's great that your gyno is giving you the all clear on trying to have a baby, I hope your surgeon is ok with it too. Children are such a joy but can also cause you some anxious stressful days , the joy does outweigh those days but whewww they can do me in sometimes . Hugs, Dana

Awww, finally got my blood work results from last week and all results are A-ok with the exception of cholesterol and triglicerides (just slightly elevated) so I do need to find a balance there and my B-12 is above normal but again only slightly. My surgeon is very happy with the results and unless I have any problems, I do not need to see him again until next year. Dana

Topic: RE: IT OCCURS TO ME - ONE YEAR FOLLOW-UPS ARE COMING UP...
I, too, can't believe a year is almost here! I had my RNY on 2/11/05, starting at 287 lbs, and am now down to fluctuating between 152 and 156...My surgeon's goal for me is 150, but my personal goal is 135! I still haven't had any bread or rice since surgery, and I do eat flax seed pasta on occasion. I can definitely eat more often then before, but try to control any "grazing" I might do, so that i do not pick up a bad habit. I am thinking of trying the plateau buster diet soon, so maybe i can quit fluctuating, and start dropping again! I went from a size 22/24 to a size 9! Also, I had my PS consult this week, and my papers are being submitted to Aetna to see if they will approve a TT. I can't wait to hear back on that! I still drink protein shakes on occasion, bars when i haven't eaten enough protein, but i love chicken and cheese! My "bad" food is potatoes...i need to stay away from them, because sometimes i crave them and skip my protein--that's a no-no! As far as exercise goes, i haven't been as disciplined as i should be, but am getting more motivated and doing better than before. I would like to purchase a bicycle and start going on bike rides. Other than that, this has been one emotional year for me, with some crazy twists and turns--but I look forward to what the next year brings me! Thanks for posting this, it's nice to see where we all are! -Phoenix 287/152/135

Topic: RE: Losing again?!
Ok that's really weird. I came to this group to ask about weight loss starting up again, and this was the first post listed! Ok I haven't really lost any since Oct or Nov. I'm at 153 and I'm 5'5 1/2. Dr's goal was 160 mine was 145. I figured well I'm just done this is where my body wants to be. It seemed it didn't matter if I ate good or bad I stayed the same within 1 or 2 pounds with 153 being the lowest. I felt like I could eat too much but of course no where near what I could before. Well , the last week to week and a half, all the sudden I can't eat as much again. I haven't thrown up since surgery except once from the liquid calcium I tried tasting so bad. I've had foamies from things getting stuck but not throwing up. However atleast twice in the last week or so I have thrown up, and all I can figure is maybe I ate too much or too fast. Now it takes less to fill me up again just like when I was about 4 months out. Like I had 1 taco today and barely finished it, I had been able to eat 2 sometimes or one and a few chips and cheese. I was up to half a shaved turkey sandwich on multi grain now I can only do 1/4. and drum roll please..... I was 151 this morning. First time I've ever hit below 153! I hope this sticks around so I can get to 145. I would love to be able to say I weigh what I did when I got married at 18. Only bad thing is I already bought a bunch of clothes in size 8 to 10. Oh well.... the price we pay for being skinny! HEEHEE!!! Janice 258/151 and losing again maybe.....

Susan, Happy Birthday to YOU. Congrats on the scale moving, it's amazing how sometimes just a little change can jumpstart the weight loss again. I love Power Crunch bars also but find them a little higher in carbs and calories than I like so I limit them big time now. Good luck on the PS, I know you will so excited to begin the process. Hugs, Dana
