Topic: RE: Beating myself up!!
I can't imagine that if you are following your diet and exercise plan your surgeon would give you a hard time. I was only losing about 5 pounds a month at the end of last year, I think that is normal.
As we get closer to a normal weight, I am sure it will be a little more work. What I have done is changed things up. Even though I have been eating pretty well all along, I just tweak things every now and then so the weight loss doesn't stall. I change around the times of my protein shakes this month, last month I changed the incline on the treadmill and I make sure I am always exercising in my target heart range. I also am more careful about following the rules of the pouch - especially with the drinking and spacing between meals. By doing it, this month I have found I am almost back to the same intensity of lack of hunger as I was in the beginning. [I actually think I may be eating too little, but that's another story].
It seems like everyone has a stall or a slow down here and there and lots of older post-ops say that's just your body adjusting [and I remember reading that can take up to 18 months when all is said and done]. Also, I would make sure you are keeping track of inches, especially if you are weight training at all. Teri is the [shining] example of how muscle and fat weigh differently and you may be losing inches and not pounds.
Remember, you are still losing, that's great! Love yourself!

Hi Elisa! You look absolutely awesome! I need to post my before and after pics too. We are coming up on our 1 year surgiversary. Yay to all of us! I am right there with you. I weighed in this morning at 186. That is only 9 lbs shy of my surgeon's goal. But I hope to surpass his goal even if it takes me longer than a year. Great job and again, you look great!

I agree Sherri. 9#s is a good amount considering how far out you are now. I've been losing very little too. Probably about 10#s total if I don't gain a pound. I always struggle with a pound or two. I go up then I go down. Anyway, you are doing great!!!

9lbs in 2 months, I think that's great. That's about what I'm losing right now and my surgeon says I'm right on track. Just keep doing what your doing and you will be fine. You can't go wrong with eating well and exercise.
