Topic: RE: How many of you reached goal at 1 year? MORE questions for YOU
Great post! Thanks.
1) How do you feel coming up on your 1 year anniversary?
I feel awesome! I am a much healthier and happier person today.
2) How is life different for you?
Life is different for me because I have more self-confidence now. I am able to do alot of things that I was not able to do before. Just being a healthier person is great!
3) Would you do it all over again?
Absolutely! I do not regret one thing.
4) how much have you lost (if you want to share)
I have lost a total of 120 lbs.
5) How much more do you have to go till goal?
My surgeon's goal was 177 and I am at 189 so 12 lbs. to go. I, myself, would love to be at 150 someday.
6) What's the best thing that's happened since WLS
I am able to shop anywhere, at any store I want!!! Yay!!!
7) What's the worst thing since WLS?
Nothing that I can think of. Maybe just that sometimes I still see the "old" me and I still have to remind myself I am not the same person I was a year ago.

1) How do you feel coming up on your 1 year anniversary?
Good. I've felt good for months now.
2) How is life different for you?
I am healthy, no more GERD, sleep apnea, high BP, diabetes in remission, depression is gone, bulimia in remission. I can move better, I am not tired all of the time, my heel spurs don't hurt as much [nor do they need surgery]. My allergic asthma is better. I have less anxiety attacks. I have a part time job and I do more activities with my daughter and my family. I could go on and on, life is very different now that I am physically and mentally healthy.
3) Would you do it all over again?
Sure, wi**** was done sooner.
4) How much have you lost?
142 pounds
5) How much more do you have to go till goal?
21 pounds [I think]
6) What's the best thing that's happened since WLS?
It's all good. I don't feel like I'll die an early death, nor do I want to.
7) What's the worst thing since WLS?
The freakish extra skin.

This is a good post,
1) How do you feel coming up on your 1 year anniversary? I'm feeling good about it, I see my surgeon on my 1 year out day, Feb 20th so that will be cool.
2) How is life different for you? It totally changed my life, you name it..it changed it lol.
3) Would you do it all over again? ABSOLUTELY.
4) how much have you lost (if you want to share) 194 lbs since Feb 20th.
5) How much more do you have to go till goal? 11 to my 1 year goal and 26 for my final goal.
6) What's the best thing that's happened since WLS? Just getting healthier really, getting rid of diabetes before it got out of control, sleep apnea, and just being slimmer.
7) What's the worst thing since WLS? The psychological effect it has on you, I'm a totally different person physically and mentally. but I'd still do it over again.

Topic: RE: Average Calories Consumed?
When I was tracking on fitday I was always 1700-2000...and I am not exercising at all lately....but I am 5'6 and 130-135 on a doc's scale and have no lose skin-except for my tummy-...some people just need more I guess. But, the second I start gaining, believe me..I will take them down.

I have 3 weeks until my one year anniversary from surgery. I have lost 165 pounds which puts my at 167 pounds and my surgeon told me I would probably be 160 in one year when I saw him at 3 months. However when I saw him at 6 months he said I would probably get down to 135-140. I'm like you in that if I didn't lose another pound I would be completely satisfied at where I am even though I'm still considered obese at my 5'1" height. To answer your questions..
1. I feel fabulous
2. I can move around so much easier and have much more confidence in myself.
3. Absolutely positive yes.
4. As stated above.....preop weight 332....current weight 167.
5. I'd like to lose another 10 pounds which would put me below 160.
6. I fit into a size 10 jeans.
7. The sagging loose skin.

I have not, but if i didn't lose another pound I'm so much happier than I was before so it was worth it.
My friend lost every pound and then some her first year, I have lost over 1oo lbs, and still have a little ways to go, I know I'm eating well, and doing all the right things so i am not tripping on it at all

Topic: RE: I've changed my mind..
I've always wanted another child but I wanted to wait until I was a normal weight so I could wear all the cute maternity clothes and actually looking pregnant and not have people wonder if I'm pregnant or fat
But now, I'm so afraid of getting pregnant, I don't want to gain any weight. Another fear I have is as I get further out, like in 2-3yrs will I still get full fast like I do now. It scares me to think in 2-3yrs I can eat more and not have that full feeling. From this point on it's all about portion control and I have to really keep an eye on it so I don't gain any weight back.

First I want to say WOW!!! Look how far you've come! Is that crazy or what?
Secondly, I'd like to second the emotion that everyone else is saying. Don't have a kid just because that's what everyone else says should happen. You said that in your essay you "sounded so passionate"... but were you really or were you saying whatever you thought needed to be said to get the surgery done. If it was me, I would have done just what you did whether I felt that way or not. If you're not ready, you're not ready.
If it's about the weight gain, then I can totally understand that too. My husband keeps pressuring me into having another baby because he's gonna be 40 and thinks his clock is ticking. What he fails to understand is that it's my body and I'll have a baby when I feel like having a baby, not on his time schedule. I still haven't reached anything close to my goal weight. I'm happy with just my daughter. Heck, I'm an only child too and I don't think there's anything too wrong with me... Maybe I will want another child, maybe I wont. Ultimately, it's my decision. If that maternal thing kicks in for you but you still don't want to go through the pregnancy fun (said with sarcasm), maybe what Gosh says will work for you.
Whatever you decide, you need to do what's best for you. We understand.
