My personal goal is to get to 170 (down from 332#) before my one year surgiversary on February 22nd. Well, I am happy to report that I am very close to that goal. I weighed today and the last time I weighed was a week, week and a half ago. I weigh 183! So, only 13 more pounds to goal to my personal goal. Yeah! My surgeon's goal was 197, so I'm doing pretty well. I'm not starving myself, I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary to get to my goal. I actually don't even exercise yet, but I do start training and working out next month. My friend is going to be my personal trainer and he is going to whip my butt, I know it! I'd like to reach my persoanl exercise goal of running a 5K. I don't care what time I fini**** in, I just want to fini**** running! So, that's where I'm at. Good luck, everyone, with your personal goals!!

I am getting a little frustrated as it gets closer to my 1 year mark as I still have 42 lbs to lose to my personal goal...But I try not to get too bummed out about it because I started out at 308 and in just 10 short months have lost 116 lbs. I am currently at 192 and can't wait to get into the 180's. My doctor's goal is 177 so that is a little more realistic...that is just 15 lbs away. I am extremely happy with my loss so far and I can still reach my goal...it just might take a little longer than a year but that's okay. Good luck to everyone!

Cathy I'm sorry that your feeling run down all the time, there are a lot of reasons a person can feel run down...that are not related to WLS.
If your blood work and vitamins are good, you might want your doctor to check for other things like "epstine barr".
R u feeling depressed? One sign of depression is feeling run down, there is something called Seasonal depression syndrom ...where people feel more run down in the winter because they are exposed to less natural sun light.
Dealing with stress in general has a very hard physcial impact on your body, same with dealing with chronic pain.
Again i hope you feel better.

There are 4 popular ways to measure body fat, 3 of them are just guestimates and pretty in accurate, and only one sure fire way to get a "real" reading.
The first 3 ways are
1) charts. There are literally charts that guestimate lean body mass at certain weights.
2) electric impulse type test. This actually sents a small (can't even feel it) current into your legs or arms and guestimates what your body fat is based on that. You'll find this kind in scales and certain hand held devices.
3) callipers. This is an old way of doing it, and is highly ineffect for WLS patients because we have a ton of lose skin.
The 4th way is expensive to get done, but it is the only accurate way to find out your body fat percentage.
The submersion tank. Basically you go into this big dunk tank, and you sit on this swing type thing. the lower you in and you let all the air out of your lungs, and they measure your percent of body fat. I had this done when I was 13.
