Sorry about the infection, that doesn't sound good. Is it just in the skin or something else?

18 lbs is amazing!!! Way to go! I can't wait to see how well we all do, its going to be a fun journey.

I have had a somewhat slow recovery from my open ryn and I only began real walking yesterday so I was surprised I lost 18 pounds.

At my appointment I also found out I have a huge infection around my naval. It is red swollen and hot. I started antibiotics today and I go back in a week. The doctor may have to drain it (yuk!).

I have had 2 stuck episodes and 1 dump. I don't ever want to go there again.

Regardless I am feeling pretty darn good. I was busy most of the day and energetic.

Well my surgery was Monday 4/26 at 5pm. Surgery was 1 1/2 hrs, recovery was 2 hrs and I was in my room by 9pm. Everything went well and as planned with the surgery. I was up about every 2 hrs to go to the bathroom because of the fluids from the IV. Tuesday I felt surprisingly well. I took five walk throughout the day. Also did pretty good at my fluids. Looking forward to going home and taking a shower. Thanks for all your support.

Thanks for the suggestions! I already had pulled out some embroidery but hadn't worked on it yet. I hadn't thought about it being a good evening diversion...instead it was something I could do without lifting or bending. I really want to get out in my garden and start turning the soil and planting my veggies but I need to wait a little longer. Definitely, the embroidery will be out tonight!

LUCKILY, I had no reaction, other than fear.  I was relieved to not have had anything happen.  Thank you for your response !

Oh my gosh I am afraid that happening to me and I need to get a plan in place.  I am not feeling any hunger at all, but my mouth really wants something to chew on (still on liquids) and when I do start chewing I hope just my allowed amount will satisfy me.

I think I should get back to my crochet, too!!  It's been ages.  There you go- learn to crochet or knit if you don't know how to already...Great way to keep hands and mind off the crackers!!!!

Topic: RE: Help with making things using protien powder
At 1 week out, I liked the ready to drink Protein Shakes.  I found to be much appealing than the powders.
I tried Muscle Milk Light, (15 g protein in 8.25 oz), Pure Protein Shake (35 g protein in 11 oz).
Make sure they are low Carb/sugar.  You can try different cans from GNC, before buying in bulk..
At this stage, I was never able to meet th eprotein goals.  Just sip, sip, sip & stay hydrated.
Good Luck.
