Topic: DELICIOUS RNY friendly dinner!!
Tonight I decided that I was going to try a little RNY-friendly spaghetti- lasagna-italian inspired dish and let me tell you, it was tasty and satisfying AND protein packed!! lol

What shall I call it?

Tomato Sauce (I got no carb, no sugar in a simple store brand little can)
Spaghetti Seasoning Packet (like Lawry's brand is fine)
Ground beef
Mozzarella cheese
Cottage cheese

Mix the seasoning into the sauce to taste, I had a little can of sauce so I used probably just 1/3 of the packet and saved the rest
Layered the ingredients in a bowl-- cottage cheese, little sauce, then beef, little sauce, then mozzarella on top.
Put it in the MICROWAVE (yes, its conveniently quick too) for 2 mins

VOILA! Delicious. Measured it out and ate some for dinner and YUMMY... I didnt miss the noodles at all. Next time I think I'll add some zucchini for more nutrients and texture.

Topic: RE: Day 12 and Overdoing It!
Thanks everyone. I talked to the doctor's office today... they said I probably went back to work too soon (surprise! not) and I will be staying home tomorrow and will try to go back to work on Sunday... So I am resting up again. I slept till 3pm today and finally fell asleep about 130am... wow. I must have needed it, plus the hydrocodone, muscle relaxer and xanax helped me stay sleeping and relaxed. UGH... I think maybe my fibromyalgia is acting up a bit in reaction to the surgery (typical of autoimmune diseases). So Im listening to my body and in the recliner. I appreciate u guys so much!! xoxo

I hear ya. I was liquids for 7 days and soft for 3 weeks. They were pretty easy about the soft foods though. Meat just wetted down. soups, cream soups, refried beans, I've been eating meat just with sauces and pulled and cut up good. The only thing I can't do is red meat right now. Its going pretty good. I think it has a lot to do with the sleeve.

Good luck!

My surgery is over, I had it this a.m. and it went well.  I am in the hospital and started walking.  No drink yet just mouth swabs (boo) but tomorrow I will start.  I anticipate going home on Wed.  The pain isn't bad at all so far.

I was just curious to see what other doctors recommend for eating after surgery.  Mine says pureed foods for 3 weeks, and that's hard enough.  Can't imagine the liquid diet for that long!!  I'm already dreaming of eating bacon..

   3 months????????

Oy!  Well, I can see this is going to be a roller coaster ride.  I was feeling SO MUCH better than I envisioned that I would be last week, just a few days post op.  THEN BAM.  Friday, Sat, and Sun, I felt like crap.  Now today I am feeling better and have gotten more water in.

You're right - we'll make it.  I need to get my fanny to a support group ASAP!!!!!

You take care, too!!

Good job and keep up the good work. I had my surgery on 04/07/2010 and i have lost 31 lbs. This is a different journey and even when things get hard I hope that I continue to be grateful.
