Are you eating nuts?  How are they going down for you?  I'm dying to try some but scared.

I am the same way.  I get tired of the same stuff.  Let's see, what have I been eating.  Well, I eat 5-6 meals a day (one or two of them is a protein shake).  I like a hard boiled egg chopped up with 1 Tbsp of light mayo and 1 Tsp of mustard (salt and pepper of course) smeared onto low-fat Ritz crackers (5 of them).  I got some fresh salmon and cook it with a little extra virgin olive oil over medium heat with cajun seasoning...delish!  Shrimp with ****tail sauce.  Light lunchmeat with a Babybel light cheese round (add some mustard for a twist).  The pintos and cheese from Taco Bell is good (as the above post said).  I love Wendy's chili.  Crab legs are delicious.  Meatballs are good (if you can tolerate beef, if not, try ground turkey or chicken).  Make your own lowfat crabcakes by subbing greek yogurt or light mayo for regular mayo.  I am in love with Stacy's Pita Chips in the Garden Veggie flavor.  I can eat seven of those and I smear some fat free cream cheese on them.  I bought some salmon burgers (pre made patties) that were very tasty.  I also have to second the cheese sticks and Fage greek yogurt is absolutely delicious with some strawberries and splenda.  I eat that every day now for the protein count.  That's all I can think of for now.  Hope all the replies give you something you haven't tried!!!

Take care!

Topic: RE: break down
This post really moved me.  Not only are you not a nut, it's obvious that a lot of us feel the same way.  My family had Papa John's today (which was my favorite pizza and wings) and I looked at it so sadly.  I miss eating too.  I ate when I was happy and when I was sad.  I ate to bring myself comfort and make me feel better.  Now, I have to find other things that make me happy.  It's really not easy.  I regreted this surgery since I've had it done but I know I wouldn't go back now.  I've been in a stall for three weeks and that makes you really crazy.  At least if I can't eat I want the weight to be falling off of me.  Not so.  I guess a lot of us all have this same problem.  I won't even go into the story about me crying about the Memorial Day BBQ.  LOL  What you need to do is the same thing I'm doing.  Find something else you love and stick to that.  I'm still looking but right now, all I know is that music makes me feel good!

Hang in there!

I am doing 2 a day, but also trying to get in with eating 100 grams of protein.
I have started a blog all of my own for this journey.  Please follow me at www.digitalsheep.org.

I do Unjury Vanilla or Chocolate with skim milk.  The result...28 grams per serving.  Very tolerable, doesn't make me nauseous.

I used to do one protein shake with milk a day, it was like 36g of protein each shake, but my dietician told me the body can't absorb that much protein at one time, and to split my shake up to half a scoop twice a day..

Nut at my surgeon's office recommended "Pure Protein" brand from Costco.  I bought a box tonight - will try one tomorrow.  20 g protein per bar - they look good.

My guideline says to start them 8 weeks post op.

I have at least one per day to supplement my protein. Usually I have one that has 26g in the powder scoop, then add it to 1 cup of milk which then makes 36g! Or I enjoy the Trader Joe's already prepared protein drink that has 35g. Both are quite tasty.

Topic: RE: Who's your biggest cheerleader/critic?
Great Post....To my surprise, my husband is not a supporter, nor a critic.  I was most worried by my (athletic, mother of three small girls) Primary Care Physician.  I thought she would judge me....completely opposite. She hugged me and said she has seen "lives changed for the best" in many of her patients.  Her own brother also had it done.  I was so relieved.    My husband buys dunkin doughnuts, mcdonalds and when I told him one day I ran 1 mile without stopping since surgery, he said "well I ate a cheeseburger today without stopping also!"   He is gaining weight and i cannot tell him what to do.  We eat completely different things.  Crazy thing is, i'm the one who birthed these children of ours and gained the weight.  He had always been relatively fit.  He had lost weight a few years ago on a "diet"  lost 50 lbs, and then STOPPED....gained it all back.  I just want him to be healthy, but friends say i can only lead by example.  So I try.

My other best supporter is a girl i work with who is so far the only person who noticed that I have lost over 25 lbs.  I know it's starting to show, so I feel good, but I have a long way to go.   Good news is i have 100% willpower over my food choices.  I am in this for life, I want to be around when my 6 and 9 year old grow up!   They say "mommy you look good!"  I am happy.
