Topic: RE: 4-5 wks out..what are you eating?
I have eaten EVERYTHING (almost) some good some bad.. I had ribs, baked potato w/ sour cream, roast beef, brocoli w/cheese, cottage cheese, all soups, chili, chicken wraps, flat bread pizza (homemade) watermelon, macaroni, bun, bread, sandwich, vegetables, nuts, chips :( (felt guilty after that one), a smokie, hot dog, chicken wings, nachos, sunflower seeds, shrimp, lotsa fish on the bbq, triscuits with salsa and LF cheese, tuna salad.. when it came to the bad food like the chips/nachos or hot dog, it was only 1 chip and a bite of a hotdog and smokie.. i find myself picking at more bad foods now then i ever did before surgery. and i feel like i can eat and drink too much still. i ate a whole boiled egg for breakfast and 1/4c of cottage cheese, then lunch i had a whole thick 8oz protein shake. can anyone else get in this much?

Thank you, Thank you.  I have been having tea first thing ....instead of the coffee that I used to adore first thing in the morning.  lol.

I've been able to do sunny-side-up eggs with no trouble.

An HOUR to drink?  Why so long?  My plan is the 30/30 rule.

Right now the thought of a protein shake makes me want to hurl.  What am I going to do to get past that????????  That's what started off all my nausea!  I was loving that Chike protein ...then it started to not taste good to me.  So I tried those ready made ones from Costco...OMG - made me sick as a dog.  And I haven't touched one since last week.  Well, I am going to try some soy milk next time I do a shake.

I found out the hard way that Crystal Light tears me up, gives me horrible gas. Decaf tea with splenda and low cal gatorade.

I have a ds, I still have my sleeve and pyloric valve so no dumping. One of the many reasons I chose DS. I do try to stay away from sugar to lose weight but has no averse effects.

unsweetened applesauce with cinnamon is the ONE thing that I know I can always eat without getting sick, so that has become my fav. I love the taste too, always have

I am addicted to cheese also...again, always have been. Ive been trying different kinds, which has been fun. Cabernet soaked cheddar is my fav, and made by a local company. YUMMMMMMY!

Had my blood work done, the only thing that was a "little bit low" according to the PA was my potassium, so I am going to start taking potassium supplements twice a day with meals, per her request. I asked her if that's why I hardly have any energy and she said that could be it, but it's hard to say. I am also going to increase my B12 to see if my energy level improves and take 2 sublingual 1000 mg a day. SHe said everything else was great, including my protein, which I was worried I wasn't getting enough. I have been doing pretty well finding things that I can tolerate well lately and eating more. I exceeded their goal for 1 month (they wanted to see a loss of 25 lbs, I lost 33!) so she set the next goal at another 25 lbs by mid-July and said that because I am doing so well, she believes I will surpass that goal also. It was a good visit. I am so proud of myself and happy I had my RNY... I love it!!

My highest weight was 258 at surgery approval... I am now 215!!!!!! I cannot wait to get under 200. 199 will be a celebration!
