Topic: RE: Thiamin and Probiotics
Gosh, I'm glad you are feeling better but sorry for the crappy (no pun intended) time you've had. I hope you get even better.
Topic: Thiamin and Probiotics
Since surgery I have been in the ER once and admitted for 2 nights due to ongoing nausea, vomiting, and the need for fluids. I have not wanted to eat anything and can barely hold down water...though it's getting better. I went for my post op appt with my nut today and she said the symptoms I am having are consistent with Thiamin deficiency. Today I am starting on Thiamin to try to relieve the nausea, and vomiting. She also recommended Probiotics to help regulate my bowels from issues like diarrhea, constipation, gas and bloating. I am hoping this will work since I either have really bad diarrhea or constipated like now (haven't had a bm since Friday). Sorry for too much info!
Just wanted to share since I know others may have the same issue...hoping we can help each other heal together! I will keep you posted on whether the thiamin and probiotics work!

Topic: RE: excruciating pain on right side under ribs
i talked to the nurse and also my GI doctor. they have both said that this pain is from being constipated and/or having a trapped gas bubble. they told me to drink miralax and trying and get things moving again. she said that it is normal for this to happen after the type of surgery i have had. she also said that bowel pain is one of the worst pains there is. i asked her at what point should i start to worry it is a gallstone or something else and she said not to worry because this happens to everyone. your bowels take a long time to wake up and get moving like they are supposed to after surgery. and it just took a couple of weeks for it to get to the point of being this painful.
i don't have a fever, high blood pressure or blood sugar, so i am thinking everything is ok. it doesn't take away from the fact that this hurts more than healing from being cut open, but hopefully it will go away soon. my primary care doctor wants to see me tomorrow. she is going to order some blood work to check for malabsorption and pancreas issues. she also said she would give me some liquid lortab to help with the pain. so i will post more tomorrow after i know what she says. hopefully i will feel better by then.

Topic: I need the protein jello recipe
Anybody got it? I forgot who posted it before. I can NOT find a drink I like and I think the best way is by jello!!! lol.
Topic: RE: no weight loss in 1 week!!!
Definitely frustrating. VERY frustrating. But then again, I look at other things. I've dropped two sizes and that is amazing to me. I weight 10 lbs less than when I got married 7 years ago and feel great in my tight jeans. Hubby is likin' it too. lol. Try to focus on something other than the number. I know its hard!
