Jane, I can relate about people "suddenly" noticing us. It has not made me mad but more like "heck, How can a woman who wieghed 355 pounds have been invisable?!?" Go figure. Now I am glad people at least treat me like I am part of the human race. You by the way are doing awsome!!!!! Keep up the good work. Tanya

Hello to my WLS Buddies! Have any of you experienced anger at the extra attention that you're receiving, now? I've found myself getting irritated at people who didn't act like I existed before, and are now talking to me. I think to myself, what was wrong with me before I lost the weight? I'm still the same person! I guess it's just another stage that I'll have to get through. Boy, it's really a "skinny" world out there, isn't it? lol I'm proud of all of us! Keep up the good work, and it is work, no matter what other people may think!Love ya'll, Jane 362/232

My son got home yesterday safe and sound. He spent about 1/2 hours here and then went to his doc. apt. I was so shocked when I saw him. He has lost 106 pounds in less than 5 months. He isn't my big bear anymore. He is my tall thin bear. He's 6/4". This has been a trying semester for him at college getting used to his new eating habits. He has done so well, and I am pround of him. We went shopping last night and both got a few outfits. To my surprise I was a size 14. I haven't seen the scale go down for a few weeks, so I wasn't even considering that size. It was a great night. Karen

HI. Thanks for asking. Can you believe 106 pounds lost. He also had lost 30 pounds before his surgery. So now he weights 261 pounds. He is 6'4". He went right from the airport to a doctor appointment. His BP is great and he can stay on just the one med. for it. Lord willing in a few more months he can go off that too. He looks "freaky" to me. I met them in the driveway and my big bear is now a tall thin bear. I can wrap my arms around him. We went shopping last night and both of us got several outfits. My good news is I'm a size 14 now. My scale hasn't dropped lately, so I wasn't even going to try a smaller size. What a great day we had. Karen

In California we have "Trader Joes" it's a grocery store that specializes in organic foods and health products. I've seen them there and not as expensive. They also have low carb tortillas that are really good. I found this pasta on the internet and I believe the net carbs are 11. I would look online, you might find low carb pasta cheaper. Good luck! http://www.synergydiet.com/capa6.html Laura Martinez Lap RNY 10/24/03 372/280 -90 lbs.

Hey everyone...I don't come to this board as often as I should but do try to check in every once in a while...it's sooo good to see how everyone's doing...and you're ALL doing SOOOOO great!!!! I'm sooo proud of and for US!!!! I just got my 6 month's (okay...actually about 6 1/2 months now) bloodwork drawn on Tuesday and haven't gotten the results yet but am anticipating that everything will be good to go. At 4 months out my protein and B12 were low. Since then i've been getting B-12 shots and have been really diligent with getting a minimum of 70 g. protein daily (usually around 85)...so I'm sure labs will come back great. I feel wonderful...no longer dealing with the constant swelling that I had when I was 362 lbs (and higher)...not easly winded and am enjoying watching my body shrink. I'm down 103 pounds as of this evening. Working out between 4 - 6 days/week and loving it! Yay for all of us!!!! Paula Lap RNY 10/14/03 362/259/

I am doing great. Lost 80 pounds. I have 25 more to go to goal. I can eat almost anything I want, just a little of it though. I crave fruit now. I have to force myself to drink a protien drink. Karen 256/175/150
