Topic: RE: Surgery Complications? YES!
Hi Terry,
You have had a very tough time Sweetie. i am glad things are starting to look up for you. I am also very happy that you knew some Doctors personally, because it is times like that when it's not what you know, it's who you know really counts.

Topic: RE: 6 months out how much have you lost????
I was 6 months on the 13th. I have lost 76 total... 63 since surgery. I started out at 233 and today i am at 157. I was a size 24 and tonight i am a comfortable 14, but can get into 12's and 10's if i "squeeze". NO, i don't go out in the tight clothes... i think that is gross.
Kathy, what a fun thing to do... i got out my Pre-op clothes and dittoed your "performance". They fell to the floor...LOL. We are so blessed to have the opportunity of WLS in our lifetime.

Topic: RE: 6 months out how much have you lost????
Hi all,
This is my 1st time on this board, but I do see some faces I do know!
Anyway, I was just reading this thread, and I'm about to burst into tears.
I have lost the least amount of weight out of all of you.
My surgery was 10/15 and I've lost 64 lbs.
I got down that 64 lbs 2 months ago and haven't lost a pound OR an inch since then. I've heard of plateaus, but this is enough to send me over the edge.
I'm a good girl. I eat my protein 1st, have some fruit and veggies in my diet, take all my vitamins, drink close to or exactly 128 oz of liquids a day (water, crystal light, decaf iced tea) I don't "cheat" and eat cookies or chips or any of that, and I work out 3-4 times a week.
The only thing we can figure out what might be wrong is I'm not getting enough calories in to what I'm burning, and my body is stuck in starvation mode. I have been getting in about 400-700 per day if I'm lucky.
I have changed my work out routine a few times (was told this would jump start the loss again...wrong)
Now I'm trying to eat 5-6 times a day to up my calories and cutting back a little on the work outs so I don't burn what I'm trying to get in.
Sorry to whine, I usually keep this stuff to myself, but I'm starting to get seriously depressed and sometimes out and out *****y.
I do have another appointment with my surgeon on 5/4, and I'm praying I can find out what the hell is wrong with me!
Thanks for letting me vent..

Topic: 6 months and counting!
Hi all, well I made it to my 6 month aniversary and finally the scale has started to move. I am down 91 pounds and counting. I am closing in on the century mark and can hardly wait. My size 18 jeans are really big on me and that makes me so happy. Only one problem, I do not have any smaller clothes. Guess I will look like a clown for a while
All in all I am feeling great, looking better and loving life

Topic: RE: Let's Vow to Do Something Today!!!!
Okay,
I vow to also get my protein in and stop convincing myself that I can eat carbs with no effect on my weight loss! I also vow to do 5 more minutes on the treadmill this week (God help me).
You guys are great! Keep the faith!

Topic: RE: Happy Anniversary To Me!!!
Hi Karen,
Congrats on your anniversary and on a great weight loss. I'm so very happy for you!
I had my surgery on 10/16/03 and have yet to set a goal (verbally to anyone). I guess I have one set in the back of my mind but I can't bring myself to believe it can actually happen. I keep thinking this miracle is going to come to a premature end and I'll either just stop losing before i'm supposed to or gain back everything I've lost. I too thank God for seeing me through the surgery and my journey to become a healther me.
I know we will always have to think about every bite we put in our mouths and that exercise is a must. I reflect on where I was 6 months ago, what it took to get me where I am today, and how important it is to continue to use the tool to achieve my goal (whatever that might be).
Best of luck as you continue your journey! Keep us posted!
