Topic: I can NEVER have a fill

Hi I went to get my 1st fill today. I have had the band for 13 years. I found out today I can never have a fill. He tried to put 3ml and not a trickel of barium went through. He says I need to go to a Bypass. I won the Lapband & had a different Dr. put it in. So now I have to try to get the Bypass which I wanted to begin with but I got the Band for free in a contest. But ALOT of things have changed since 2004 & I no longer have ANY insurance nor money both my husband & I are disabled but only he gets SSDI. I need a total hip replacement as well with no insurance. We live on $1100 a mo. I may be able to get it for aprox $8500 through a program at the hospital but still it might as well be $85,000 when your poor & disabled. Please pray for me to find the $8500 somehow.

Topic: RE: Average Weight loss on Lap band?
I'm on month 3 of my weight loss. I'm averaging 11-13lbs per month. The doctor has been telling me I'm losing weight too fast. So.... 20lbs seems like too much

Topic: RE: Is there a link between obesity & fibromyalgia?

Thank you for sharing. I am doing alot of research a out lap band surgery and fibromyalgia, the benefits, the meds and how that is impacted. Unfortunately although my meds help me so much...i have put on 30 pounds very quickly. This is the heaviest o ha e ever been in my life and I need to get a handle on it before I can't bounce back from it. Hoping the reports that lap band is a good tool to go tell the weight and reduce symptoms even if I can't currently be as active as I was used to. I want to live life and not be isolated by being over weight which exacerbates my FM flares and pain.

Topic: Weight Loss Surgery Friendly PCP in Los Angeles

My daughter has decided she wants to have weight loss surgery. She currently has to choose her Medi-Cal health plan and the choices are L.A. Care and Health Net. Anyone have WLS with either of these and can you recommend a WLS PCP who will not give a lot of hassle? She has been deciding for years if she wanted to do this and is finally ready, it would be a shame to have a PCP who would be discouraging.
