Hi all, just thought I'd introduce myself as I recognize some other people going through St. Joe's bariatric clinic in Hamilton. I just went for my pre-op this morning. On Friday I was at my 'class' and met a nice lady who told me about this site. She recommended it so highly I thought I should join and connect with others who are on similar journeys to mine. I have 4 days until surgery and am excited and a little frightened, mostly about how I'll feel afterwards. I just can't imagine not being hungry or dropping the kind of weight that people talk about losing in such a short time....a few pounds have long been a struggle. I feel really positive about the program so far and generally feel positive about my decision and it's outcome. Looking forward to seeing life from the otherside of weightloss surgery!

Welcome!!! I am also going through St. Joe's waiting for surgeon and NUT class. Best of Luck on your upcoming surgery!!! Wishing you a speedy recovery!! This is a great site so informative and full of great people!!

Welcome Welcome Welcome.. i too am going thru the process at St. Joe's in Hamilton. So glad you found this site.. it is a wealth of information and help.. the people on here are awesome and so helpful! Good luck with your surgery.. and see you back here "on the bench".

I am also going thru St. Joe's - I start Optifast on Monday, surgery on June 29th.

You'll find a wealth of info and support here - not just from those having or waiting for surgery, but from those who are months and years out. You've just joined the biggest group of friends you'll never see!!

WELCOME you will get TONS of useful information on here as well a s TONS of support. it is awesome. Congrats on upcoming surgery. I also am going through St Joe's in Hamilton but i got awhile to go. i see the nut and social worker July 27th so hopefully after this this will FLY by..

Should I be insulted that my husband laughed when I told him you called me a "nice lady"? I don't know if it was the "nice" or the "lady" that he found so funny. LOL
