Optifast - Day 5
I've been getting all 4 OF packets each day, and topping that up with the Jello, broth, water, etc. It's easy to do if you don't fill up on the 'fillers' and concentrate on getting the OF in. Bumping it up helps the taste, too.
When DH brings in the bbq'd meat, I stand over it and inhale, but I don't eat any. I enjoy my broth and OF at the dinner table with the family, talk about our day, etc. just as normal. When they have ice cream, I have a frothy Choc OF - that's my 'treat'.
And it doesn't bother me in the least. I know this is a means to an end, and it won't last forever.
Did anyone find themselves "nesting" before surgery? I find that I'm in a big hurry to get stuff done that I wouldn't have been rushed about before - like cleaning the kids rooms (packing up the old stuff they're finding they don't fit into this summer, getting rid of last winter's hangers-on clothes), getting my kitchen in order, etc. It reminds me of when I was pregnant and wanted the baby's room and house just so beforehand.

I can't say that I was nesting prior to surgery but it was the holidays and I was pretty busy with the usual holiday preparations.
I think that we are the lucky ones, no struggles leading up to surgery and it sounds like you'll be able to hit the ground running after surgery with all your around the house chores done.
Wishing you continued success and an exciting journey.

Sorry I missed coffee night. I had a wicked headache (bordering on migraine) and couldn't bring myself to go out. Next month.

I shouldn't be surprised. I quit smoking 7 years ago, and still love the smell of a fresh pack even though I don't want to smoke one (although smelling someone who just came in from having one makes me nauseated).
Good for you! And good luck with your surgery - coming so soon!
ETA - Oh! I totally nested before surgery. I cleaned, I emptied cupboards, I packed away my biggest summer clothes (rightly assuming I wouldn't need them) I bought my vitamines, picked proteins, bought little tiny plates and bowls and cutlery... I was preparing to change my life forever. :)
