Update
So I met with Dr. Klein and then got a second opinion from Dr. Huynh. The risks apparently outweigh the benefits in my case and surgery is not an option. I'm really disappointed and I'm not sure what my next steps are going to be.
I just want to wish everyone well on their journeys and say it's been great "meeting" everyone on here. Your support has been invaluable.
Take care,
Lisa

Lisa, I'm so terribly sorry to hear this. I cannot imagine your disappointment and frustration. My thoughts are with you as you explore next steps. xoxo

Lisa - would you consider self-pay? I know Dr. Pop at Barix is a very experienced surgeon - he did all the "tough" cases when I was there. And they do a free consult...you could go there and see what they say. I think there is a place near Ottawa too where Elizabeth went (and she was probably one of the riskiest cases ever)...Henry Ford I think?
If the dr's agree that you need WLS due to your weight, and they won't do it here - maybe you could even get OHIP to agree to pay if the US surgeon says he will do it?

I was thinking of Elizabeth too, and also of Jeff who went to the Cleveland Clinic.
