Constipation while on OPTIFAST

Benefiber doesn't seem to work for me. Is it OK to take Milk of Magnesia every day? Thank you.

Yes, Milk of Magnesia is fine everyday. I actually did it as well during Optifast stage. I took it at night just before bed.

The Guelph centre only recommends colace, so I would check with your centre before taking anything.

oh man .. im the exact opposite . i cant stay off the toilet .. I wonder is that normal ? since everyone else seems to experiences not being able to go ?

I had the same problem as you while I was on optifast.. I was on the toilet all day every day! I called my clinic and they said its totally normal..Some people get the opti-cork and others get the opti-trots..Your just like me.. one of the lucky ones..lol..When I was going through it everyone told me to just think of it as a cleanse for your body.. kinda made me feel better.. I knew my body was flushing out 23 yrs of crap..lol.. literally..

My question is that half the people can't go, and half the people can't stop going. Both problems are fixed by putting benefibre in your shakes. Why don't they recemmend that to everyone from Day one instead of making people suffer?

I did take the benefibre everyday but it wasn't working and I was really backed up. Very painful...I gave birth to a 2 pound turd (TMI...lol).

Ya, I am definitely NOT constipated on Optifast...I work for the first time on Opti this Friday, thinking I may need an emergency bathroom break plan in place!
