Thyroid problems.

Hi all, after loosing 60 pounds in 2 months, I came down with several problems related to the Optifast program. I had renal failure (Kinsey's ) and other problems. Now my thyroid is showing under active. There is no thyroid problems within my family. Is it a common problem with those who lose weight fast. My doctor has not had any experience with this surgery as I am her first case which took 15 years. Has anybody else experienced thyroid problems?

I am hypothyroid the first in my family. diagnosed before surgery. Someone has to be the first in the family. sorry to hear you are having health issues

 Thyroid problems run in my family and 5 years ago I was diagnosed with having an underactive thyroid.  Tonight I got a call from my Dr., and he is doubling my thyroid medication immediately- apparently it is was down.  I am hoping that this is why I haven't been losing as much weight recently.
