Chucky is feeling violent today apparently!

I don't get it.. I haven't had any problem with rice for the past couple of months... then a few days ago I had rice that had a bit of wild rice in it and presto.. Chucky goes all psycho axe killer on me and I'm puking my guts up for about an hour..

I decide not to let that one incident bug me and get right back on the horse and try again... without the wild rice though since that was the only thing that was different.   Well wow.. I just freaked out the people in the office next to the bathroom I bet.  Just spent a half hour in there letter Chucky tell me EXACTLY what he thinks of rice.. and not in a quiet demure fashion either!  LOL

Never ever again!  Is rice one of those things lots of people have issues with?  Is it normal to have no problems with a food and then all of a sudden you can't digest it anymore?  This is just weird.  But.. never a dull moment after RNY and I'm WAY healthier, so not complaining.. more whining really!  LOL

All the best,

Laura

Yes, it's completely normal for your pouch to like, then hate, any particular food.  But you're also only 2 months out, so you're pouch is still adjusting to what it feels is 'new food', even if it's something you've had before many times.  Try again in a few months.

Pretty darn normal, yep! lol  Sucks doesn't it.  There are several foods, including rice, that I could eat one day but not the next.  Rice is difficult to begin with.  I rarely eat it as it bloats me like crazy.

Rice will do that to you.  I can only handle about a tablespoon, maybe 2, but sometimes that's pushing it.  Also pork roast - has to be cup of really tiny, like a pencil eraser, or it sits and irritates me in a most unpleasant way.

Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora.  Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.

Rice is not my friend! I try to stay away from most "white" foods (pasta, rice, sugar, flour).
I laughed out loud when the GI doc told me to "eat brown rice". I told him no way it hurts my pouch and sits way too heavy.
