The Best Reason For Losing Weight!

Yesterday my son asked me how much I weighed and was surprised to hear that I didn't actually weigh that much more than him. I am 185 lb, he is 158 lbs. He then told me he was glad I had the surgery because he thought I was "better". When I asked him to clarify, he said "You're not so crabby. You seem happier. You probably sleep better."

So there you have it - the best reason for losing weight in my son's opinion, is that I am a more patient, less irritable mother, who sleeps better, is happier and is just "better". High praise from a 15 y.o boy who usually says 10 words or less in any conversation.

The best reason for me was when my son commented that it was so nice that he could hug me all the way around. He is 10 now so he would have been about 6-7 at the time.

I sooo agree with you. I had that same comment from my daughter who is 12 years old as well as my 9 year son. There were both amazed that they could actualy hug me all the way around, because they had never been able to do that before. This was my most priceless moment!!!!!

My kids, (twin girls 17 and boy 10) especially my son, say they have a hard time remembering me fat now.
My one daughter said she was looking at some old photos and said that she didn't realize how big I was before.

Hah! Yeah I raised a good one...last night the hubby and I went out to a movie. When we came back we found same 15 y.o. boy having a bonfire in the backyard - in the city! He said it was nice because the neighbours had come out and were talking with him. Little did he know they were looking to see what idiot was starting a fire at the house next door. Ya gotta love 'em, I guess.
