Post Surgery Discharge- TWH

Good morning OH..

I was just wondering about beig discharged after surgery...  What are you provided with from the hospital besides presciptions...- in terms of instructions for wound care, instructions for post op eating???

Do they give you a pamphlet or anything to assist you with what you shoud be eating etc.??

Any feed back would be appreciated...

 I got a pamphlet that I missplaced and didn't end up reading until about 3 weeks post-op.  It tells you when to pull off your steri strips and what signs to look for that may indicate complications.  They don't give you any additional information about eating/drinking other than the booklet that you received at the nutrition class.  You will also get a discharge summary (mine was very brief, didn't say much) and you should also get a sheet with the date of your 1 month follow up appointments (rarely actually booked at the one month mark).

Same as everything already said except they didn't give me a date for post op check up. I had to call and make it myself. Good luck! Denise
